ok so i just bought my 2013 q5 and i was looking through the owners manual <-weird right? and i somehow ended up on changing a spare tire. so step one was remove bass box and last time i looked at the spare cover i had no bass box just my red weird looking spare tire. i have a 3.0 SC premium. is that something thats missing? or i never had one? the sound system sounds pretty good to me. could use more bass though :P

Maybe it didn't come with one? Maybe previous owner removed it?

I'm not aware of any without it.
Perhaps you should ask the place you got it if it's lying around somewhere.
You still have the connection wires for it, right?

It might as well not be there; very, very little bass is produced. Once the TDI issue gets worked out and it if I'll be keeping the Q, I'll either replace the stock sub with a higher quality one or add a slim, self-powered larger woofer.

Agreed. Stock sub does very little. I just wired up an inline sub amp with a 10" Boston acoustics pro. Completely woke up the stereo, and I only have the Concert on my Q5

I think it sounds pretty good. I mean it's not completion sub vibrating everything. But the overall music quality is good.
My only gripe would be volume. I have to almost max it out to get any good bass
