    Car randomly turns ignition on

I notice during hot weather, the car's ignition would turn on, as if the key is inserted. When I to put the key in and remove it, the car won't turn off. Sometimes I have to start the car and drive it around and it will turn off. Other times I have to pull the fuel pump fuse of the running car for it to turn off or else it won't recognize the key has left the ignition.

There used to be a turbo timer, which I have removed, and returned the wiring to stock. Any ideas?

Either an issue with the wiring from the old turbo timer being installed (loose connection or two wires making intermittent contact), otherwise I would guess the ignition cylinder is to blame.

The next time it does that, I would try popping off the steering column plastic and either tapping the ignition lock, or move the wiring that goes to it around to see if it stops. Not sure where the old turbo timer splices were made, but I would also jostle that bit of wiring to see if that has any effect. If any one of those things results in the ignition returning to the proper OFF state, then you will have an idea of the culprit.
