So at and below 5psi/2500rpm would you say that the car feels faster or slower / easier or harder to drive around town?
Is your head built with upgraded springs and stuff for extended revs? Does the tubular manifold shift the power band further in the rev range?
It has a LWFW and FX400 6 puck in it (picked up from Ringer Racing), which can be grabby, but it honestly isn't much different than stock driving around town and stuff. Never have a scary time pulling out into traffic or anything, I know I can stomp it WOT and it'll move out of it's own way almost faster than I can shift into second lol.
My head is currently completely stock aside from the EuroSpec 268/260 camshafts. I have the rev limiter set at 8K rpms and try to shift before 7.5k. I've hit the rev limiter many, many times and nothing bad has happened yet....
YET. I have a spare AEB sitting the garage that I'm going to build with solid lifters. Once the Mercedes project is finished I'm going to put together a 2.0L, slap the head and stroker together and swap it in in a weekend.
Yes a tubular manifold will shift the powerband to the left. But this one isn't too bad. There are a couple pros and cons. Pros, this manifold is built with runners that have almost an identical ID as the exhaust ports on the head. You don't want exhaust gas expansion until the turbo, so this is great and helps make it spool a little quicker. Cons are that is also a restriction at a certain point. Where that point is, I do not know. I personally seen a B6 GTX3071 run one of these manifolds and lay down 464awhp.

Yes, advanced ignition timing helps the turbo to spool quicker. I want to adjust the physical valve timing in relation to the bottom end.

I hear ya man, that's the enthusiast's struggle.
