Westfalia detachable euro trailer hitch for b5 a4. Bought from PF Jones in the UK last year year. I have since upgraded to a b7 car which this doesn't fit. Complete and in excellent shape. Happy to text pictures and give guidance on installation.

Wow I'm sorry I haven't been monitoring the thread. A couple of pics are linked below and I'll take some more this evening.

This does fit avants - that's what I had it installed on - and as far as I know it fits the sedan as well.

I have confirmed that this towbar fits both B5 Sedan and Avant but not other generations. See Westfalia catalog pages 28 and 32 (PN 305 220 600 001): https://www.westfalia-automotive.com...logue_2013.pdf

    Maxvdh -

For the archives, would you explain the modifications to the bumper on your old vehicle? Did you have to remove the bumper support?

Sure - there are multiple ways of going about doing it but I chose the quickest one. I removed the bumper support and then cut a small (~ 3" wide x 2" long) notch in the bottom center of the bumper skin to give clearance to accept the detachable ball arm. It worked fine but the bumper skin was rather flimsily attached at that point. If I had more time, I would have cut a t-shaped slot in the bumper reinforcement so that it fit over the towbar. There are holes in the towbar that could have been bolted to the reinforcement. That's basically what I'm doing on my B7 now but it's a little more tricky to mount the bumper reinforcement on that one. It will require a couple of adapter pieces since there are no holes to mount the reinforcement even after modifying it.
