    :: ECS Tuning :: Billet Oil Filter Housing Hook-Up! | B7 RS4

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

    We don't know how you feel about it, but trusting your engine's most vital fluid to a plastic filter housing seems like a leap of faith. In fact, after repeated heat cycling and several oil changes performed with pliers and other makeshift tools, the original plastic filter housing body gets pretty ratty.

    To give back to the customers, we've decided to throw in a MANN-FILTER with purchase! Why not install a smart looking billet aluminum housing paired with a MANN Filter, and take the guesswork and risk out of filter changes.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Has anyone ever reported an issue with the housing?

    Added to my "Gotta f***ing have" list. And will order/ship over to Europe when the list gets longer.

    If this oil filter cap has an easy release mechanism for the filter it will be a sure winner. The least favorite part when changing my oil on the RS4 is liberating the old filter from the cap...why oh why did Audi have to over-engineer this?

    Absofuckinglutely agree. Manhandling the hot, oily filter out of the stupid cap is the biggest pain in the ass when changing the oil.

    The filter doesn't clip in to ours like the OEM plastic piece does, it still holds it in place though. Tough to explain with out it in your hands.

    I use this tool when removing the filter from the housing, works like a charm.

    https://www.amazon.com/OTC-4521-Hose.../dp/B0050SFZBG

    Take the housing and filter, slide it into a large ziplock bag. If you cant break the filter free with just your hands, use the tool to penetrate the filter media from the inside out and then you can use the handle of the tool in one hand and the oil filter housing (still in the bag) in the other hand. Almost zero mess.

    Holly, I thought I am the only having issue with the filter, took me a good 15 min to break it free, no joke.
