    Post Got new brake parts

    Hey guys.

I looked for over a week at different brake kit options.

Due to time constraints and nothing being available,
I went and got stuff from Autozone.

I needed rotors and pads. I was told that the rotors are branded DURALAST but truly made by Bosch. The pads I selected
are ceramic. Did I do ok or screw up

I've read that people have had decent luck with them.

Trying to get input from y'all and yes I looked at Google and here.

    Any input is welcome

most people would have asked for peoples opinion before purchasing.

I ordered this kit back in march and installed everything. no problems or break dust.

The stuff you got will be fine, won't be fancy looking or anything. The ceramic pads might be loud at low speeds and/or low temps before they warm up.

I was worried about quality and mechanical issues.

    Fancy brakes will come later.

    I wanted good quailty pads

    Thanks for the reply

I use the Autozone ceramic pads and have never had any issues with squeeking and I get less brake dust on my wheels compared to the stock pads. Its lifetime replacement of the pad as long as you return them before it gets down to bare metal. Not a bad deal around $70 that I won't have to pay again..

2 years ago when I was selling my b7 my wear indicators came on and I was forced to buy whatever O'Reillys had in stock, which just so happened to be the cheapest stuff they carried. I installed it all and the quality seemed decent enough. I decided not to sell and 2 years later am still running the same pads and rotors. The pads work but are loud as fuck and I'm replacing them. The rotors are just fine but I'm also going to replace them with some slotted ones just because.

In any event house brand stuff really isn't that bad.

    Got new brake parts

I just installed coated and drilled Zimmermann rotors all around and so far so good after about 1000kms.

I know a lot of people here like Zimmermann, they're made in Germany, generally the quality is very good at a reasonable price.

    Got new brake parts

Recently installed ebc green stuff pads with hella/pagid high carbon rotors.
Very good brake feel and they stop much better then before.

But dust is noticeable, thought it would be less.

I used to get quality pads and rotors but after owning dozens of vehicles and never noticing a difference, I gave up on the notion. Now I run Advance Auto pads and rotors without issue. Coupon codes a a must! as you can get everything for pretty cheap. The only thing I try for is ceramic pads only, which hardly ever give me dust or noise.

I'm running old rotors with cheap-o ceramic Advance Auto pads without an issue. For a daily driver, anything will work really!
