We don't know how you feel about it, but trusting your engine's most vital fluid to a plastic filter housing seems like a leap of faith. In fact, after repeated heat cycling and several oil changes performed with pliers and other makeshift tools, the original plastic filter housing body gets pretty ratty.

To give back to the customers, we've decided to throw in a MANN-FILTER with purchase! Why not install a smart looking billet aluminum housing paired with a MANN Filter, and take the guesswork and risk out of filter changes.

Hi Jason, I fitted one of these at the weekend it's an excellent well made product. Only issue is that the pintle valve would not snap back into the oil filter support no matter how hard I tried so I had to refit the filter support tube without it otherwise I couldn't get to work. Any issues running without this ?

I can't upload pics on this site unfortunately.

Referring to the billet oil filter housing installation instruction pdf from the ECS Tuning site, page 14 shows the exploded view of the filter support components, the spring, the pintle and the valve seat. On page 15 it shows that they should just snap back in which mine would absolutely not do after hours of trying I put the filter support into the billet housing without the spring, pintle and valve seat. I've ordered a new one from Audi and should get it today so hopefully that'll sort it out.

Ah ok. We haven't heard of any one having issues like that. Could just be that you're overlooking something in getting it reassembled. Not uncommon when working on these vehicles! None the less let us know if the new support tube corrects this.
