    2017 S7 build

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Will be placing an order tomorrow at invoice pricing.
    4G5F5Y********* 2017 S7 Premium Plus MSRP $79,950 + $950 Dest

    L5L5************** Florett Silver $575

PS8*************** Comfort seating* Black SX $1,850

    PSS*************** S7 sport package $3,900

    PPS*************** Black optic $1,500

    5MK*************** Inlays - carbon atlas $500

6W9*************** Delete front license plate holder $0

    ABR*************** Audi beam rings $250

I need comfort seats due to bad back for both my wife and me. Coming from a 2008 CLS63 AMG. Anything I have included or excluded that anyone thinks I will regret? I really liked the B&O stereo but cost combined with Prestige upgrade did not seem like a good ROI as I don't care about HUD or othe Prestige features. I will have to get all season tires for winter driving although 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD is my daily driver.

Thanks in advance for assistance and I look forward having my first Audi.

I think your build looks fine, if I were to build my s6 again. I would also get the alcantara headliner. I had not seen an S6/s7 in person before purchasing and after having the alcantara inserts on the door I thought, the headliner would elevate the car just a bit more.

But that is just me, and early congrats on the car order!

Im not familiar with the US Spec S7.

Do you have parking assistance as an option? The front & rear camera is essential in my opinion as its a big car to park, and the rear has limited vision as its such a high back.

I would personally get the Arras interior. I think it is so beautiful. I understand that it is not available with the comfort seats, it depends on which is more important to you.

Ahhh! Thanks, Boss. Had no idea that was a factory option now. I'm debating jumping on the ebay (or was it Amazon) setup that a few folks here have done.

If you want to save some $$$, don't order the Audi Beam Ring thru Audi.

U can get them off of Amazon for dirt cheap and You can get different logos other than the Audi Rings.

I had mine changed to project "RS"

My Amazon ones faded and had to be replaced. I wouldn't mind having the OEM ones just because I know they won't have to be replaced.

Ironically, my CLS63 has the Alcantara headliner but not door insert. I will stick with black cloth headliner instead of $3k but I appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks for the suggestion on the puddle lights . I see these on Amazon for $27. I am helpless with tools but install seems simplementation and I may go that route.

    Have you considered prestige package?

I'd add driver's assistance to either. I didn't want it at first, but in hindsight I am glad I got it.

Re: Prestige..I don't care about HUD or power closing doors and black optic gets me 20" wheels so I am happy I can save $3k and get the Premium plus. My biggest concern is Audizine members posting in this forum about the S7 throttle lag from a stop. My CLS63 has a slightly laggy throttle at initial tip in and then it takes off like a rocket with the back end going a little loose. I didn't notice a problem when I did an S6 test drive but the A7 throttle was better. I just cannot resist the V8.

My CLS has a very good stereo with tons of bass but B&O requiring Prestige @ $3,000 plus $4,900 upgrade is too much for me to justify.

I may try the driver assistance package tomorrow if the S6 I drive has it (no S7 on lot), but I worry about it being too intrusive and feel I will turn it all off. A E350 service loaner I drove for a week had some similar features and I had mixed feelings. I am mainly concerned about side blind spots. When I did my test drive the steering wheel vibrated once when I started a lane change but I don't know if that is the standard side assist or the optional version.

I still haven't fitted my front door ones, because the leads are so short I can't get them out far enough to change the plug over. Factory fitting is the way to go, if you can.

Congrats on your order. I ordered also 17 S7. Delivery eta for now is october. I went with prestige trim and B&O sound. Have it in my RS5 and I am really pleased. I have HarmonKardon in the GLE450 and M3 but not really impressed with it. I believe its worth the price if you are sound nuts. Also I got those puddle lights for $18 for all doors for the S7 with S7 logo and currently have RS logo ones on my RS5 for $8. Aliexpess.com is where I got them. So far I am happy

I use windfireauto.com. Takes less than a minute to install. You can send them any JPEG as well and they will make it project able for you. Seems very high quality, no cutting or anything.

Yes...I also got the Wind and Fire ones. And they offer free lifetime replacements of logos so you can replace the fading ones after long use.

I think the heat generated the light fades the logo...so if you constantly leaving the doors open for a long time, the heat will fade the projector logos. You simply replace the fading logos with a new ones (Wind&Fire offers free lifetime logo replacements).

The fading may also happen on the $250 Audi OEM projector.

Go for the OEM Beams. 1) They are brighter, 2) cleaner image, 3) sharper image and 4) last longer. You will be close to $100k out the door for your car so paying $120 for each beam is a "rounding error." The reason aftermarket companies supply extra bulbs and logos is because they burn out and fade. Think of the beams a very small "projectors." In order to get a visual effect (particularly when there is ambient light) you need a very intense beam. Because of this they get extremely hot and require a well designed heat sink. You get what you pay for. I have had OEM's for 6 months and they add a very cool touch to an already incredible car.

The Driver's assistance package is incredible. I set Adaptive Cruise and practically forget I'm driving. It responds just like you were driving. If you use "Pre-sense" one time you just saved yourself thousands in damage to your car and someone else's. It will keep you from rear ending anyone, even if you are not paying attention (imagine that). It will also give you the best chance to minimize damage to yourself if you are going to get rear ended.

Because this car is a coupe and does not have window frames.....slamming the doors a million times during the life of the car is just a bad idea. The power closing doors (for $500) is the best money you can spend. Only bad part is you will get used to gently closing the car door so you will now need to slam all other car doors the second time as it becomes a habit. I think this feature is going to be standard in 2017.

I totally agree with a previous responder........the Alcantara headliner is the "final touch." I passed on it because of the cost, but now that I have seen it, I realize what a huge error I made!

The interior of the car at night is truly beautiful. The detail and subtle lighting throughout is "as good as it gets." So to not have the upgraded headliner is an even bigger mistake.

You will love the Comfort Seats. I too have a bad back and really appreciate being able to drive for hours and not feel like my next stop should be the Chiropractors.

    Enjoy your new ride!!

I disagree. I had windfire auto for over a year with zero fading. I think it is identical quality and Audi charges more because they can . Just my opinion !

Placed my order today as originally described. Technically it is my wife's car and when she realized it had red brake calipers she threw a fit but I stood my ground. No way I was giving up S7 sport package. She really likes the RS7 blade wheels but I didn't check into that as a special order. However, when I got home I decide to call and change to 21" black optic (from 20") but dealer said it was not allowing them to do that build. They will check with Audi next week. If I get those I will do separate 19" or 20" winter wheels and tires. I would be curious what type of tread life owners are getting with the 21" summer tires.

Or just keep it as the 20's and by the rs7 21's currently in the classified section. Then put winter tires on your 20 inches black optic wheels.
I thought I heard somewhere where they said they were discontinuing the 21 black optic package for the 2017's, but I can't find it now.

Didn't hear from dealer but reviewed order guide again and it looks like 21" black optic is only for Prestige trim. I am sticking with 20" wheels.

Thanks. Saw the RS7 wheels in classified and may consider that later.

Ah ok that makes sense, maybe that's what I read as well.

I bought Windfire Auto for my S5. Had some fade but one that didn't. Just put some in my A7.

Although the front leads are amazingly short, it's possible to get them in.

Hey Jesse do you run spacers on your S7?

Nope, just a perfect wheel and offset on my car, imo. I love not having to run spacers too!!

Shouldn't your logo facing the other direction?

It's upside down when you open your door.

Has anyone heard of delays with 2017 A7/S7? About a week ago I saw the 2017 brochure on Audio USA site and now it is gone. Also the build option is not showing. It does show for other models. I have requested info on my build and not received any update and the Web site changes have me really paranoid.
