Found this item on eBay and I'm curious on the quality. Has anyone installed this on their B8's? This is the design I'm looking for which is hidden and oem looking but not sure about the camera or the reliability of the internal components. Can't seem to find any review about it.

Looking at the product description, it has a Sony IMX322 sensor. That sensor seems to be in a fair amount of other dash cameras, but I'm not sure how much the other components change the quality of recordings. It'll do 1080p at 30 fps, which is another good sign. If you do decide to get the camera, make sure you post a video clip of the recordings here.

Has anyone here installed a dash cam and ran the cable down the A-pillar?

I have installed dashcams on cars without A-pillar Airbags...
so im wondering what the method is to remove the A-pillar air bags to do this, or is it not worth the trouble and run the cable on the outside, between the pillar and windscreen?

Pop off the airbag cover which reveals a torx bolt, remove and pull off the a pillar. You can tuck the wires in without messing with the airbag. Very simple, i ran my blackvue this way.

Interesting product but it doesnt seem to have many festures.

Their are other camera products will record upon motion sensor when it picks up motion even at night. Also having a decent amount of storage that records on continous loops to have data during an accident.

Edit- my bad it looks like the amazon one does have loop recording and motion detection. So thats pretty cool. The ebay one doesnt seem to do much from what i can tell. I think i am gonna have to get one of these. The amazon one looks to be only for B8.5 i wonder what makes it only apply to 8.5 models?

So how would the parking mode work? Does this mean that the camera will be on all the time and only record if it senses motion? How much impact would that have on your battery. I don't drive a lot maybe about 14 miles round trip every day.

interestingly enough, i spent the last couple of weeks looking at dash cams and decided last night i was going to wait because i couldn't find the right one. i make sure i read all the reviews and watch all the videos for each cam, and i feel each one is lacking something, unless you spend at least $400. This one is nice, looks clean af, and it reminds me of the street guardian.

I think the video has its own wifi which you can connect and view saved videos or live feed from your phone or tablet via an app. The AV can only be connected unless there's a mmi to AV connector but then I might be wrong. I also waiting for someone to install this and make a DIY out of it.
