Selling my Chipwerke Pro. Worked great for almost a year on my 2013, but then I noticed the connection was not tight. CW replaced it without question (great customer service) so it is essentially brand new. I decided to go with a ECU tune since my warranty is now up (hit 48 months before 50k miles). It does have the new maps being so new. It's $450 new and I'm asking $350 OBO.

Just installed mine last night, no codes, no shifting lag, nice boost in upper end power for the money. Look at it as a Gateway drug for those that want to pass a drug test,

i know it's gone but -- what kind of numbers were you guys seeing with this? or even butt dyno.. does it increase the stock PSI in every gear? i've been looking into a piggy-back system for a bit now.

I had a Chipwerke 'S' for a while (which is supposedly not as smooth as the 'Pro' model in the power delivery department, so I've heard), and I truly felt like the ~$300 I spent on it was more than worth the increase in torque it provided. I ultimately sold it and went with an ECU tune because YOLO, but I had no real regrets having bought the CW box. I did experience occasional lag/hesitation which made the car feel a bit jerky and unrefined, but it definitely allowed the car to build more boost and added to the fun factor overall.

Except now Audi can tell if you had one installed. So no more drug test passing

My chipwerke was pulling 1/2 car length on my buddy's S4 with an EPL ECU/TCU tune. We did 3 pulls from roughly 50mph. I had an edge on him in every one of them.

I saw that Audi might be able to tell on a different FS Chipwerke post - has this been truly confirmed? Could you just Clear everything with a VAGCOM ? Any help was appreciated! I was about to pull the trigger on one and I saw that .... sigh

Yea I posted that picture in the thread. It was originally posted by EPL in one of their threads. It's a real audi bulletin so it is confirmed. Whether or not your dealer is going to scan your car for it cannot be determined by us tho.
And no, vag com doesn't have the capability to clear that.

It was the cousin of a friend of a friend, who talked to a guy that knew someone that it happened to....

I'm not saying it's not true, but you have to wonder a bit. These chips have been in use for quite a while now in S4, S5's, A6 and anything else that uses the 3.0 Supercharged platform. So has anyone heard one actual user complain that they got flagged by Audi yet? I've yet to see a comment to that effect on any one of 4 different forums.

What are the real details and why can't someone share what is really going on? The partial bulletin shown was sent out by a competitor tuner, who obviously has a vested interest in having people choose that tune over something much cheaper, and with similar performance. It would sure help level the playing field if not getting the TD1 flag was no longer an advantage.

Also, the memo references "Hardware" updates, so what is that? To me, a Hardware update would be a new version of the ECU, not some type of "software" update. Perhaps Audi has made changes to their ECU's that can now detect a tuning box moving forward. But do we really know? So, until someone actually sees the boogeyman, it is going to be an urban legend.

Just my 2 cents...

I am interested in picking up a Chipwerke but would also like to see some sort of confirm from an Audi tech or someone like that to see if this affects our cars or perhaps only newer models with some more advanced ECU capabilities.

FWIW, that memo was posted about another car as a heads up.

I honestly doubt it is applicable to our cars as it would likely require a HW change.

My guess is AT WORST it will be like other checks already on the ECU that point towards tunes if you don't clear them.

ie: I get engine speed and boost output exceeded error messages sometimes that I just clear and go on my way.
