Hi All,
So after almost a year of research looking around on the internet, it looks like there are a handful of people with the 2005-2007 Audi A6 (C6) models out there who are experiencing their headlights vibrating while they drive at night. They notice this by seeing their lights bounce up and down rapidly off people's bumpers, street signs, etc. Owners with this problem have been going to the dealerships to replace the light bulb, ballast, or the whole housing in some cases. None of these replacements resolve the issue. I can't say for all A6 vehicles out there with this problem, but for my headlights, when I would simply knock on my headlight housing, you can hear a billion different parts are loose in the housing. I don't know why, but the engineering for these headlight design are very poor. Because of the loose part, it does create a distraction and even a hazard to other drivers and yourself with the headlights flickering.
Long and behold, I finally came across to removing the headlights and get a better look inside what kind of bullshit I am dealing with. I was able to secure the projectors to stop the headlights from vibrating. So yes, like I have explained, when knocking on the headlight housing, you can hear a lot of parts are moving and it just seemed like nothing in there are screwed tight. When I opened the housing and took a look inside, there is nothing you can tighten a screw. There are these white nubs that hold the projector in place that seems to be very loose. So I thought about how on earth I am going to secure this bitch and with 5 minutes of thinking, I took some duct tape, rolled up a big enough ball to stuff it under near the black mount that holds the projector in the headlight unit. While you roll up the ball to stuff under the black housing, do not forget, you need to allow the projector housing to move up and down, and left and right. When you start the vehicle, the auto-leveler are activated and needs that room to move up and down. Also, when you are driving at night, you also need to allow the housing to also move left and right for the adaptive lighting feature to work. You don't want to roll the ball too big where the projector cannot move and break the motor. That will probably get you in some serious issues.
To be honest, that's simply it. After those duct tapes are put in place, you should expect alot less vibrating. The lights at night will not look stupid anymore and it will be safe for you and other drivers.
Thank you for those who read through my first post.
Let me know if you have any questions.
