Audi A4 8.5 - Curious as to how the driver side door closes (or how its meant to clos

    Hi guys,

I'm wondering, has anyone noticed or experienced their Audi A4 B8.5 driver side door requiring a slight more effort/push to close?

The bolts for the hinges & latch are all tight and the hinge has been well lubricated. I've only had the car for a few weeks, so I'm not sure.

At first, I thought it might be the air vacuum/pressure within the cabin. but the other doors seem to require slightly less effort.
It hasn't had any reported accidents registered against it, so its either the way these cars are, or possibly just mine.

I am aware that bottoming-out on a nasty storm water easements or speed humps can affect the chassis and causes these symptoms.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Cheers

We are on the same page. I hate slamming doors and have no issue reminding my passengers not to... but me on the other hand, has no choice but to give much more effort - a swift door close- to do the deed. I do feel all the doors need a little extra juice but the driver especially. FYI car is pretty new and no issue or events to cause mis-alignment with the body.

best way to explain it to passengers: Pull/push to close by the knob/handles, do not slam shut.

It sounds like perhaps its the way the door had been installed from Factory and possibly mine too (if it hadn't had any mishaps with the chassis).

Ive been advised that I should get the mechanic to do a quick adjustment next time. Is that something you would bother doing?

Who advised you to bring this up- i may next time i'm there ask them to take a look, not too fond of my dealer. (Frankly any dealer, ever) But i may drop a line to the mechanic to take a look. I do feel tinkering with doors leaves a lot of room for more issues then resolving a small one. Rattles easily begin and road noise likes to creep in once the tinkering begins- so i am modestly hesitant.

Its just another car forum, just a fellow forum user.

I know what you mean, sometimes things from factory are fit fairly well and pretty much most things line up perfectly.

I guess its up to you, but I would probably show and ask the mechanic's opinion next time when I take it there for a service.
