    Audi Drive Assist

Hello AZ. Looking to see if someone can give me a hand with an issue I'm having with Drive Assist (blindspot light on external mirrors).

My FL A5 was recently rear ended and had the rear bumper cover replaced. The shop reused the existing drive assist sensors (a pair of black rectangular boxes that sit on either side of the rear bumper cover) but replaced the parking sensors. Anyways, the parking senors are working perfectly fine but the drive assist no longer works.

When I press the button by the mirror to toggle on/off the assist, the light no longer comes on. In my MMI, the Drive Assist is all grayed out and when I select it, it says that Audi Drive Assist is currently not available. I ran a vagcom scan and it's coming back with a malfunction stating it's not able to communicate with the 3C Lane Change controller.

The shop swears up and down that they connected all the sensors. Before I go about removing the rear bumper cover, can anyone shed some light on the situation whether the system needs to be recalibrated or if I'm missing something here? Thanks

I would think the shop would have to fix it; is your insurance covering it? May have to replace the sensors.

Well their insurance should be covering it since it was her fault. Is it typical that the sensors need to be replaced? They said it all looked good when they were putting it back together.

Well looking good and actually working are two different things. Insurance paid them to do a job, so they should follow through. Good luck.
