I know for a fact these buttons will not work on our cars even with the correct harness. I have the same wheel and highline buttons and mine don't even function or light up. Just fyi buyers

Agree. Preface lift cars with the newer steering wheels will NOT work with the extra buttons even with the correct harness. These CANNOT be coded.

I never said it is plug and play..(it is for guys with 2013+ cars)...many people from B5/B6 forums had to think outside of the box to get it done and thanks to them I have one installed in my avant... Same goes for the B8 guys...and you should be thankful they love figuring out stuff like this

So please stop spreading rumors..misinformation and do your homework before posting

And for the record I don't claim to know everything...and for the B8 guys I always said ...do your research before buying from me as I don't own a B8 car..and as a buyer know ahead of time what you are getting yourself into so there are no surprises when you go and install
Never had a complaint yet

Why I am so particular about people contacting me..to include info about the year..model..and type of transmission of their cars....because that makes a huge difference in decision making..in regards to which product I can sell you or direct you to..and the final cost

So for the record. IMHO
2013+ are plug and play
B6 are fairly easy
And B8 are a bit harder but as u can see not impossible to get these to work in

Settle down. These guys pointed out some facts that you did not in your ad. They could have saved someone a lot of headache. They were adding info to this sale thread which you did not include. While I was looking to swap out my wheels for a new wheel for my 2013 (which is compatible), I don't think I want to buy from a seller who is this quick to jump down someones throat. And this was added since my thoughts and statements are truthful info I wanted to contribute. GLWS.

All the buttons will work on the B8.5 facelift cars (links that you provided). I've never been negative on the forums but someone of your status as a veteran is somewhat disappointing for getting mad because we helped the community from most likely buying something that might not have fully worked on their (B8) cars.

Good luck with the sale and I do hope someone with a B8.5 face-lift car buys it from you.

I admit my ad was a weak example on the details

However the statement posted created a belief that none of the buttons will work...if it stated...(all buttons will work except the Nav) I would have not even said a word

Just because EHesh had problems doesn't make this not possible

And anyone to date that has PMed me knows that I always asked them to do their research on the B8 model to understand what is involved with the install, drawbacks and the cost ...and to make their own decision...never have I missed or tried to trick the buyer as he might or might have not implied with the way his post is worded

That is the only thing that set me off

It is easy to write a negative post and detract someone from buying

As for my tone and way of formulating a response I apologize. It was definitely less than an ideal response

I apologize for quickly stating as a "fact" that the buttons won't work on preface lift b8 cars. They could work, but I never had the time go figure it out. The buttons that you and I both have (high line buttons) are different from the direct swap facelift b8.5 s4's that have the "low line" buttons.

Just stating my experience so you can add this info into your add (like you have now) and no harsh feelings. And just so potential buyers know what to expect

I think we all could have been a bit better about our communication and the manner it was presented in general.

Maybe you can post a picture of your current buttons so everyone here knows which ones you are referring to and maybe I can help you solving your problem as well
