    Time to update suspension

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ive been browsing the forum and haven't came across a post that really helps.

My front tires keep wearing/cupping on the outside lip, both driver and passenger sides. I have had alignments, wheel balanced, new upper and lower control arms so im left with (Shocks & Struts).

current mileage is around 127,000 miles

What is a great suspension kit that includes all 4 Shocks and struts. This is a DD and being lowered isn't really important to me.

H&R springs + Bilstein Sports makes for a great ride quality and improvement for the occasional twisties 👍🏾

Have you checked tie rods as well? That could be a cause for uneven and premature tire wear, especially on a car that's going up in milage as yours is.

when i replace the control arms, the tie rods looked/felt fine. they weren't loose or sloppy.

most times when a tire starts to cup along the outside edge its normally due to excessive tire bounce due to blown struts or worn out shocks.

Don't buy H&R street performance coilovers. I hate mine. They ride like ass.

I was going off of what he had left listed to be replaced. He already mentioned he replaced the control arms otherwise I would have recommended the suspension refresh kit from FCPEuro. You're correct that shocks/springs alone don't fix the issue. I was just adding as a DD they make for a good replacement as the mild drop/good shock combo has been issue free for me since I've already replaced my controls arms/tie rods. With tire longevity in mind, getting toe as close to 0 helps significantly.

Replaced my front suspension with the FCP kit a week ago, $287 with the audizine promo code and came to $297.98 after shipping I think. Best money I ever spent it now drives like a brand new car 👍 Don't forget to get an alignment after a day or so for it to settle into place, and don't torque bolts until suspension is loaded.

Are you particular about a certain brand/distributor? Do you fancy spring/shocks over Coilovers, etc? personally I'd prefer a higher quality spring/shock combo over a budget friendly set of Coilovers. I like you don't really care for height adjustability and drive my car pretty much everywhere regardless of the road conditions.

brand doesnt matter. something reliable. like i said its a DD and i rather have ride quality over height adjustable.

The link you posted earlier is the same setup I'm currently on. Replaced my blown shocks with Bilsteins and it rides well especially with a full set of passengers.

Living in the Tri-State area. Its pot hole city and Im riding on 19's with 255-35-19 tires. I have not ed any other new suspension components since Id own the car. Struts have not blown out, Ride is great imo. Give Chris@1552 a call. he has the prices around

I have had my STs for about 3 years now (and ~60k miles) and they have been great. Rear springs are a touch soft, but not too bad if you keep them raised up a bit. If control arms, tie rods, etc. have been dealt with STs are a good choice to replace the factory shocks and springs.

Those are, and they can be had for a good bit cheaper than that if you look around a little. Aluthman helped me my coilovers and I went with the hyperco springs in the rear, and the ride is pretty damn nice for as low as I have them set haha

The hypercos are waaaay less bouncy and it helps you not rub over every little bump if you're really low.

I concur on this. I haven't installed them yet either so I can't talk about the ride, but Chris was a stand-up guy to deal with and had the best price I could find.

Some members say that it rubs when really lowered. I dont have that problem and you probably wont either because your not interested in slamming your car down to the subframe. I got the St's ed for the performance more then just the for being lowered

Measure from ground to fender. Some people even measure with dead weight (their weight) in drivers front seat to simulate it loaded to even it out under load. Then accordingly.
