High Elevation S3 ECU Tunes Check-in

Looking at a stage 1 tune soon and as those of you know who drive the S3 at higher elevations (>5000') the turbo lag can be pretty bad. Who noticed the largest reduction in lag with their tune? Anything else that you did that helped with lag?

I'm kind of tired of using LC just to get a jump on a minivan at stoplights when I need to change lanes in a short distance...

Tune helped, as well as the DSG tune. Opening up the intake restriction and doing a turbo muffler delete will help with throttle response/lag. In regards to the intake, you can modify the stock intake by removing the rain tray in the box, add a K&N or other filter and modify the air scoop in the front to flow air on the drivers side or just buy an entire intake.

Currently running the United Motorsports 'red' file for both the ECU and DSG. HW mods include APR intake, CTS turbo muffler delete and CTS catted downpipe. If I were doing it again, I might save my money on the intake and turbo muffler delete, doing only the downpipe - that is where I felt the biggest difference.

I think intake mods will help his situation as at high elevation as the engine is starving for air. Any relief in restriction should help somewhat.
