Help with reprogramming remote windows up/down? (NoVa/MoCo Maryland area)

    Good day fellow friends -

I recently replaced my dead battery and it looks like I lost the ability to roll my windows up and down from my remote. A fellow 'ziner helped me program it when I first got my car years ago. Is anyone available to help for a small fee/case of your favorite beer?

3G+ still has to be turned on via VAGCOM, but the control of the front rear and sunroof are in the MMI yes.

also I tend to be in VA more than MD at times.

Good info! I saw it in my MMI but had already changed it via VAGCOM

What year and model do you have? Does your key fob still work?

If you have a B7 or older car like what is in your avatar then put the key in the ignition, turn it on so that the lights on the dash come on but the engine doesn't start, push the unlock button on the key fob a few times, turn the ignition off, take the key out, and hit the unlock button to see if the turn signals flash. If they do then get out of the car, close the door, and try using the key fob to roll the windows down/up.

I find on the B7 if I lose my settings (like the battery was disconnected), all I have to do is start the car for like 5-10 seconds and connectivity is restored. No need to toggle with anything extra.

It should reset on its own but my way works well.

Thank you for the replies fellas! I'm happy to report that when I got home from work tonight and tried it, it worked!

Does changing the battery lose the settings of a flashed APR chip?

It shouldn't, as that is stored in the ECU and over writes the stock data.

TJ you need to do the window/remote mod, it's the shit. And shame on Audi for not just offering it as standard here.
It's a two minute VAG com mod.

Hey guys! I drive a 2006 Audi A4 Quattro B7 2.0T. Currently it has been down for several months. We have tried so many things. A week ago I brought it to a shop owner that I trust for a very long time. Every time I try to start it doesn't want to start normally, I have to hold down the gas pedal. While starting it doesn't make all the lights blink on the dashboard like a regular faulty ECM would. Once it starts thick clouds of white smoke comes out from the tailpipe. It stays running. While driving it would just continuously blow the white smoke. Acceleration would have timing issues. The car has 120,000 miles on it. After he teared into the vehicle trying to find what's wrong with it he believes. He thought it would be the ignition control module. After doing a little more research I found that their is no such part in these cars since the late 90's. I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever had this issue. Anyone? Does anyone have a vag com scanner in the northern Virginia area?

    What has been done?
Has the engine been overheated? Usually white exhaust smoke is associated with burning off coolant.
Has the timing belt and water pump been replaced? Should have been done around 105K miles.
If the car hasn't run well in a while then charge up the battery to better be able to diagnose the issues.
