    2017 Side & Rear Markers

Why did Audi decide to have front and rear markers in the new redesign? I feel they have a history of adding them to previous versions and than removing them later. What do they do? Is it for reflection, style, or both? Do they produce light of any kind or reflect it?

I'm just not a huge fan of them and would rather it just not be there, minor annoyance I know.

I replaced my side markers and rear reflectors with paint matched versions on my TDI Sportwagen. Will do something similar with the Allroad once I get. It's easy to mod them.

I'm pretty sure it's DOT regulation. EU versions don't have the amber ones. My previous car had them too and was much easier to just replace them rather than the headlight assembly if it bothers you. Only problem is that the matched insert may not be a perfect match and you don't add xpel to it too .

Generally the ambers only bother me, but on the blue it stuck out way too much.

My feelings as well. Would rather them be replaceable instead of built into the headlight.

I'm going to be taking my front side markers out this week and having them painted to match the color of the car. It'll look so much cleaner without that hideous amber color.

How did you colour match them? Did you just paint them?

Any reputable paint shop can scuff and paint them with your paint code.

Anyone know if you can buy these from say a vendor? Would be a nice cheap option that way if you resell / return lease everything is back to spec
