:: ECS Tuning :: NEW!! ECS Performance Pendulum Mount Kits | 8V A3/S3

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Designed and manufactured in the USA using the most current design methods and materials, ECS Performance Drivetrain Mounts utilize a perfected polyurethane formula to deliver smooth power transfer through the driveline to the ground while minimizing chassis feedback.

The custom-machined Pendulum mount is a highlight of this latest ECS release. All-weather seals capture a teflon-lined spherical bearing that replaces the poorly designed factory bushing, eliminating front bushing deflection and premature failure.

    Features include:
    • Designed and manufactured in the U.S.A
    • Custom machined Billet 6061-T6 Aluminum construction
    • Stainless Steel, Teflon-Lined Spherical Bearing
    • Anodized black for a great appearance and corrosion resistance
    • Genuine Torque-to-Yield fasteners are included for proper installation.

With the differences in inserts for some S3/A3/TT does this take that into consideration or does it not matter?

Do you mind sharing the brand or manf of the bearing? Aurora? McGill?

do you have a comparison between the stock pendulum mount vs yours (ES#3135673)?
( I'm not talking about the insert which has been discussed before with other makers)

I'm curious if there is any performance differences other than it being made of billet aluminum. will it help stiffen up the area more than stock and how if it does.
I hope I can feel something with these.

    No difference between models/chassis.

Unfortunately which manufacture we use for our bearing is proprietary.

Billet aluminum is much more sturdy than the factory piece. The biggest difference is the use of a Spherical Bearing rather than a rubber bushing. Rubber can deteriorate, rip, tear etc. where a sealed bearing will not. This also provides a much more solid mount. It even has its own all weather seals that capture the spherical bearing to keep the elements out and keep the bearing operating maintenance-free.

    I hope this helps!

so once I install it ill feel an improvement right away?
what is the original part made of? I thought it was steel.
I can see that the spherical bearing is a plus. if that make a difference I maybe down for this part.

I already have the 034 dogbone insert. that I felt right away.

Steel. You really wouldn't notice a difference between what material the brace is made from. But I will say Billet Aluminum is stronger. So you're increasing the strength of the brace by making it out of a different material.

The bearing will absolutely make a difference. You're replacing a rubber bushing with a solid bearing.

then I'm sold on the bushing part.

the aluminum reasoning is a bit a stretch (J/K pun intended) for me. it does look really nice but its under the car so it wont help with the looks unless I tell everyone to lay on their stomachs and take a peak.

Just about every piece that's beefed up in race/track cars is made from billet aluminum, at least that I can think of. It must be the material of choice for a reason.

We designed our insert to be firm but with minimal NVH transfer. Which is the reason for the 2-piece design. Poly still offers some damping ability unlike a totally solid insert.

It's the best of both worlds honestly.

make sure you give us a full review. I'm very curious if you can feel anything since all we are seeing different is the spherical bearing. if there is a for sure tighter feel ill order one. real itching to mod something on this car to make it a tighter drive.

Unfortunately I won't be able to install it till November which is when I get to my car. It will be joined by my air ride suspension also.
