Not going to make an official submission yet, as I expect to go a little quicker in the coming weeks and donít want to waste Loeís time.

However, I set a new Q5/SQ5 record with a pretty modest setup (100 file on E30 and 2.96 PR) last night. Full weight running 21s on street tires in 191 DA. Thereís a thread in the Q5 forum with the details and a little background as well, if you wish to visit the barren forum, haha.

I went to the track last night also. I ran into an issue I've never seen (at least on the street) right when I was getting to the 1/8 mile my rpms would start to flutter and the car would downshift to 4th. Still managed an 11.6 though @ 116 mph. I got back into the staging lanes turned the AC on and the temp to HI to get the fans running and went again. Same problem, car got to the 1/8th mile and my rpms fluttered (lost power) then it shifted to 4th. Here are both of those slips. 7.3 1/8th mile should be better than an 11.6.

I then parked the car opened the hood and went socializing in the pits and watched some cars run. About 40 minutes later I jumped back in my car lined up with a new 18 Mustang GT and ran my best run of the night...still had the flutter right around the 1/8th mile but the car didn't drop gear like it did in the past. I was pissed because it has never done this before in at least 15 or 20 Dragy runs on the street. At any rate I ran one more time and just like the previous run the car fluttered again at the 1/8th mile but kept gear. Both of those slips are below. Also below is my Dragy run on my fastest run which showed "invalid"..lol. Versus all the other runs in the same lane being valid. It's was very close on the 1/4 mile on all my runs but off on mph...reading high.

At any rate no need to add this to the list. Just more of an FYI. I was full weight, 93 pump file. I need to track down what was causing my car to drop a gear and flutter and then maybe head back out for an official run.

    How full was your tank?

Might be time to start looking at an LPFP.

If you have logs of it check the fuel pressure.

I feel your pain, I had a lot of very good passes killed by this exact thing

I was just above 1/4 a tank. I'm running pump fuel and my blower isn't ported yet so I wasn't expecting any issues with the LPFP. I may go out and grab a HPFP piston and see what it does. I think I remember Loe saying he knew someone with an ultracharger on pump who had to get a HPFP because of fueling issues.

I don't have any logs but plan to at some point this weekend. I've never thought to log fuel because I've never seen the issue.

wow great showing! esp SQ5, that's incredible that you are doing this on a 187mm crank only set-up and not a traditional dual-pulley ratio yet (or 3.0 + ratio)

Here you go guys, this was last week. Iím going to try and get some more track time before season ends. These are my first three runs, had two more later but with traction problems after sun went down. Although ETs were off, it was fun getting car to do the AWD sideways hustle, lol. Still netted 11.5ís at over 120mph... Had slightly over half a tank of gas and spare/jack were still in the car. First two were minutes apart and literally right after registering and driving in from 3 hour drive. The third one had maybe a 25 minute cool-down period by the time I drove back to pits, looked they computer etc. Then Gamblers started and we had to wait around which was great for IATs but not for warming up the tires.

APR UC with 93 tune and E25 mix

DAs were anywhere from -200s to -300ís. Yíall can check in drag times or whichever other source you use and get an idea.

Any more details? Any upgraded cooling and/or ultracharger set up? I'm just trying to piece everything together as I'm going back to the track (last time before the season ends) Friday. With an almost certain negative DA, I will be livid if I don't punch in around 114MPH give or take an MPH.

Right! Coworker just got a F Type R, V8 SC 550 hp rwd. It is a fast car for sure. His XFR was no match for me once I went DP. Now it is going to be much closer so your times are inspiring that I have a chance to take him. It will be fun for sure, pretty sure he will be reeling me down after the 1/8 mile.

No new personal best ET's for me but some positives from Sunday's trip to NED. It was cold. 43F with a 15-20mph headwind and the sun never really came out fully. It was impossible to get traction off the line. A 3k rpm or upswing launch resulted in lighting up the tires and crabbing off the line. Mash and go netted 1.68 and 1.73 60's but still short shifted into second around 6k instead of 7k. With the new TB installed I was hoping to get a slightly better traps but with no launch, short shifting, strong headwind and running a beta ethanol (E30) file that had no time to adapt I'm still happy with 121.99. Picking up 25.41 mph in the back half was the best this car has done as well.

My C4 S4 ran like shit for its first time at the track but it was still fun.

Your moving on that back-half Kelsey....!! Havenít done this myself but I hear that winter tires will give lots of traction at the strip when itís cooler out, worth a try.

Thanks! I have Goodyear all seasons on the car now but they are very much at the end of their life. Probably better than summer tires in the cold but not ideal.

I used to run winters on my B7 S4 at the track, even when it wasn't cold. With a 6 puck clutch I'd cut more consistent 60's. After a tiny bit of wheel spin off the line they'd hook and you'd be off without bogging. The summer tires would seem to either hook and bog or spin and then wheel hop the car to death. This is the last week the track is open so I'm probably done running until the Spring. But maaaaybe if the weather is looking perfect I'll head back up.

Itís a hike but if you can meet up at Atco they open until early November. Iím going to try and get there as many Tuesdays as I can until they close it down. Thereís a friend that comes up from Virginia with a B6, as well. And yes, the all-seasons do cut more consistent 60 FTs when it cool.

I'm sure it would be a good time but a seven hour drive is a little too far I think...

Thought this dash cam footage was pretty awesome of a Suburban I ran on Sunday. I figured I'd give him a good head start and then reel him in down the track for a cool video... Never caught up, this thing was a beast!

Good showing guys. I still haven't tracked my issue down so "boost season" is done for me this year. My track shuts down this week. :( Until next March! If I don't sell my S4 and buy an RS3...lol.
