Mr. Stokes to the rescue, a little birdie has been sending him messages

But really, lets keep this on track, I'd hate to see this thread get perma-locked from one user who can't stop running his mouth, just put that user on ignore like I did and start focus on those who have contributed and those that will contribute to useful information with real data-logs to back-up the information being shared. This thread isn't about hearsay, spreading false information, or misleading information. The cars should do the talking, no one is here to size each other up, that's not what this thread is about, and hasn't been about until recently for some odd reason. It's dual-pulley territory, nothing about this is new, all the real and useful information on pulley sizes and how it can react to temperatures from weather and cooling systems from more experienced dual-pulley guys can be found in the dual-pulley thread, this isn't a thread about speculation.

    /end scene.

In tapatalk if you click on someones profile picture it brings you to their main page. In the upper right hand corner the 3 dot menu button brings up the option to ignore/block that user.

Seems like a decent run for 91 file. What was the DA and do you have upgraded cooling?

I have a very similar setup (3.1 ratio), Iím hoping to trap 114+ in decent conditions.

Have been driving an m4 stock and enjoyed it a lot. Modded some. Stage 1 bootmod3 OTS map have me about 500 whp and a bit over 500wtq. Although I like the S4 it amazes me how much the m4 pulls even with just a tune. Just got pure stage 2 turbos installed and should be around 650 whp. Man, I really want to finish the s4 with a port and polish but I donít think itís worth it at this point honestly. Just donít want to lose $ on it at this point. I am in the fence about finishing the s4, any thoughts?

    Thoughts?
If this is real - nope. No reason to stay with the S4 unless you need awd. Waste of money.

If not real - dicktuck like we expected.

    A tuned M4 is a great car

Went to New England Dragway last night. Ended up meeting forum member "SGR" and let me tell you... he was hauling the mail! Quickest/fasted 3.0t I have seen in person by far. Was awesome to have a little B8/.5 talk.

As for myself... well I wouldn't say the results were quite as good as I had hoped especially given how good the conditions were for the end of June. With that said, this was my first time at the strip with a 6MT but getting off the line actually wasn't my biggest struggle (in my opinion). The trap speed was the concern... Below is my quickest run. My fastest run was a blazing 110.93 MPH.

Unfortunately I did not have any way to measure IAT's last night (soon very soon) so I cannot speak to that. I do have the MercRacing HX. My biggest question is, I know APR has the DSG guys revving out to 7400, what is the optimal shift point (rpm wise) for us 6MT guys? I was generally shifting between 7000-7200 but never let it ring out beyond 7200. Is it possible that I was leaving an MPH or two on the table by not ringing it out to 7400 (please say yes ).

What was my goal/expectation you may ask? We have seen 3.1 ratio cars on 93 octane going anywhere from 114-119. I honestly wanted at least 112+ MPH given the excellent conditions.

Bottom line, I had a ton of fun and it was great to meet another forum member that loves the platform as much as I do. I have some work to do!

Gray S4? I saw you run last night. I was there and ran my new setup. Best I could muster up was a 12.3 @ 110. Saw the S5 haul some ass. Must have been an Ultracharger with a 11.3 @ 121!

Yeah that was me. I saw you run a time or two as well. Yeah he's ultra charged with other mods running some e85.

What's your set up? I see you switched tuners, however I didn't think IE offers a dual pulley set up yet? Are you running a 3.1 ratio as well?

IE doesn't offer the DP but hopefully it'll be out soon. My ratio is 3.139. I never liked GIAC in my car. But now I'm just thinking it's my car... We seem to be stuck in the same trap times and speeds. But seriously... I was disappointed with the trap speed. I should be 114 with this setup. Logs look good and I'm seeing 18.5psi on stage 2. IAT were decent in the low 40C at the starts.

Lol yeah even dating back to my brief leased B8.5 (DSG) days, 2016, we just can't seem to get it together. We really need to meet up to discuss our inability to own fast Audi's...

I know right! We really do need to meet up. I wanted to find you and the S5 guy last night but was so angry I just left lol. I'll be back if I can redial something or their DP tune comes out.

We definitely need to get a NED meet together. Nice job getting some results. How busy was the track last night?

Not crazy busy (think diesel truck nights). I ended up getting 6 runs in but I got there fairly early.

Yeah we should do an NED meet.

I have been going to my local drag stip for the last 4 years to race/ hang out. The last 2 years in my S4 im still trying to learn how to shift this thing. My shift points are 1-2 7200, 2-3 and 3-4 are 7000. I may be leaving some mph or a few tenths on the table. Im also APR on 91 with 3.1 pulley ratio

Yeah exactly. That's why I'm waiting for a 6MT guru or two to chime in. DSG is 7400 wouldn't ours be the same? That would be what I'd like to hear, unfortunately I'm sure it's something more than that. Again, the conditions were excellent at the end of the night...

I just looked at the 1/4 mile spread sheet 12.4 @110 on pump 93 (20+ mph pick up on the back half) is very respectable. Its comparable to the other 6mt times on race gas or a mix of E85.

On 93 pump, yes at least 20mph should be expected in the back half. If you can get a stronger 1st half, you'll end up higher overall.

IDK... On stage 2 the trap speeds should be higher. On the old APR 1/4 times I managed a 12.6 @ 112 on stage 1 93 file with a 2.0 60 foot time. That was with my old 2011 S4 with 6MT. Seems the stage 2 should be at least a couple mphs more on trap speed.

You should get banned or get an infraction for name calling and attacking another member. Just saying.

Sorry to point out the fact that cars arenít trapping very high with this set up.

**NEW** 1/4 mile spreadsheet: Submit your time here

On the other hand I might add that I had that trap speed before with a stage 2 single pulley set up. I had stock cooling system and a pump wasnít working because some fluid got inside the harness. I did 4 back to back runs and they were progressively slower. 12.1, 12.3, 12.5 and last was 12.6 guess at what speed? Correct ! Magic 109. First ran was 116. So I lost 7 mph total between 1st and last runs. It was most evident in higher gears. Felt like the car stopped pulling after 1/8. Heat soak and pulled timing is my guess...

Iíd be willing to guess using straight 93 is hurting your traps and times a bit. The gas in New England is garbage. Iíve tested ďtop tierĒ gas from a few different stations in my area and the Boston area and most of the time I couldnít hit more than 15-16* timing. On the same file cars using 93 in other parts of the country would have no knock issues. Until I was mixing E25+ Iíd see quite a bit of timing pull.
