do you know if this is a direct swap/upgrade to non-b&o cars? will i need any coding, extra adapters/harnesses, or any new panels or anything, or just a straight swap.

It's not a straight swap..Harness plugs are definitely different.Not sure what else you would need

Concert = No amp
Symphony = Amp (this amp is different than the B&O amp)

If you don't have an amp now you will need to get the correct harness to connect to the radio and it routes back to the rear where the amp is located.

Go to your trunk and pop open the left side panel, there should be an amp.

the nav is there but no amp.
i got a first aid kit there now where that amp i think is supposed to be.

So you have the Concert system, you'll need the wire harness that goes from the front to the rear then.

This is misleading since Audi Concert does indeed HAVE an amp, IF the car had factory B&O system. B&O was an option on all the head units, so simply going off the head unit is not accurate.

Not sure if you read the whole thing or what? He doesn't have B&O or an amp, so he has the basic Concert system, the next setup was Symphony which had the amp and a sub, finally B&O which has it all.

JeriQo asked if P+ came with stock amplifier. He didn't say whether or not he had B&O. Either you made an assumption about his car or you made a blanket statement that's only true in some cases.

Well you're right on that one. I thought all B&O came with the sub and amp in the rear. I'm pretty sure there was only one setup of that system and if he doesn't have the amp in the rear, he doesn't have B&O.

Edit: Don't B&O setups have two subs in the rear?! I have one since I have the Symphony speakers.

Yeah it's confusing because of his question. People ask if a certain trim level has some part, when stereo equipment can't be known based on trim level alone or even head unit. B&O always has an amp and sub, but B&O was an option on multiple trim levels and Audi Concert radios could be had with and without B&O. He later mentioned he doesn't know what he has, so no telling if he does or doesn't have an amp.

got the car used. its a P+ w/nav.
theres no amp, but i have subwoofers.
im not sure if someone ripped that off before i purchased it.

You wouldn't have sound if that was the case.

Look at your driver's door, the speaker cover will be all black and nothing to it. If in fact you have B&O it will be a round chrome piece that says the B&O name on it.

Yes, the female plug hole on the left in the second pic is for that.
