So i keep on getting this code. Its driving me nuts. I have been working on it for like 2 months. The engine is swapped to an early ((BPG) i think). Running out of ideas. Car runs great. i have changed:
    timing belt/chain
    valve cover gasket
    cam follower
    maf
    Spark plugs
    front and rear O2
    pcv valve and breather tube
    pcv valve (2) hoses
    low pressure fuel pressure sensor
checks for leaks and cracks nothing obvious
    Fuel filter

I have a Ross Tech Vag Tech

Maybe some vacuum leak. Have you done a smoke test? If you have VAG-COM or torque pro, you can watch for short and long term fuel trim which will give you some idea to further diagnose the problem. Possible causes could be vacuum leak, fuel injectors, MAF(you have already changed) or fuel pump.

I fought that same code since Feb/Mar of this year. I don't know which one fixed my issue since I did them both on the same weekend but when I replaced my DV (even though I already had the rev D) and installed the 034 Catch Can (you replaced pcv and hoses so should rule that out for you), I have been free of that code for 3 weeks now and have gone WOT quite a few times. Hope that helps.

Thanks I will change the DV and see what happens. I will also get the smoke test done as well.
