My wheel hubs need replacing due to stripped thread from crappy lugs.

Are aftermarket wheel hubs a good alternative to Audi OEMs?

As long as they are made by an OES (original equipment supplier) you will be fine. I would recommend the SKF BR930877 (fits front and rear) from rockauto.com, its $230 and already has a new bearing pressed in. SKF is an OE supplier.
Stage 1 more than you RS3
