    P0455 and P0441 Codes

Hey guys. I have a check engine light on and pulled 3 codes. P0455 twice, and P0441. Evaporative Emissions System leak.

Little background. I originally got the P2015 code when my flap position sensor went out. Left it for a couple weeks and then the moving part in the back came completely out causing a huge vacuum leak. Got all kinds of codes from that including 2 and 4 misfire, random misfire, low boost, etc.. Replaced the manifold and cleared the codes.

I was driving down the interstate for about 150 miles and stopped for gas. AFter filling up I went to start the car and it took forever before finally starting. Then idle was very rough, but no code. Obvious sign of a vacuum leak, but after I got on the road again it drove fine and didnt stumble once at idle or have a hard start since. (checked the gas cap and it was locked tight)

Here I am about a week later and the light came back on. Now I am reading the two above, P0455 and P0441. I give the background info to ask this. These codes point to a faulty gas cap, but with the background info that I recently replaced my intake and the symptoms I described above (although only happened once after hard driving for 150 miles) does this sound like something as simple as a gas cap/purge sensor, or does it sound more like a vacuum leak to you guys?

Thanks for that. I found this to be especially interesting from the last note from the P0441 code:

Make sure the quick release lines for the N80 valve and vacuum line to LDP are not crossed.
This can also make the engine hard to start after filling up the fuel tank.

Seems to be exactly what I was experiencing. Bout to fill up again after work I'll see if it does the hard/long start again. Can anyone elaborate on this? From what I have seen there isnt an N80 valve on these cars. Is there something I should be looking for instead that replaced it?

Just fueled up again and had the same hard start and rough idle issues. Looked at the manifold when I got home and nothing looks out of place or installed wrong.

Can anyone offer any assistance on this?

    Symptoms:
    Worse Fuel Economy
    Rough/long startup after refueling
    throttle response lag

Once again nothing looked out of place/routed wrong in the manifold, and its not idling rough like there is an obvious vacuum leak anywhere.

from what I've been reading it seems to be almost certain it is the purge valve P/N 037906283C. If this is the case though, is it possible the one I got on my brand new manifold is faulty from the factory? I'm gonna see if I can swap it with the original one tonight to see if it solves my problems.

Replaced P/N 037906283C with the original one and nothing changed. I'm beginning to think its the purge valve P/N 06H906517H instead. This wasnt replaced with the manifold and I have a sneaking suspicion something is wrong with it. Guess I'm just talking to myself at this point, but I'm hoping this can help someone else down the road. Doesn't seem to be a huge problem on these cars, but there are loads of issues with it on previous Audis. Maybe we just havent hit that point yet with most of ours for the EVAP system to start failing.
