So, which specific KI pulleys require new idlers and require grinding of the block if you're running a stock supercharger pulley?

I don't believe any of them require new idlers.

I believe all pulleys(Not just KI) bigger then 190mm or so will require grinding off some of the block for clearance on the belt.

186mm and up required grinding the snub on the block..My pulley or someone else's doesn't matter.

You kinda lost me with that last statement. Are you saying that despite the manufacturer, the grinding will be necessary after going higher than 186mm? (Perhaps that's what you meant.) Funny how nobody making larger pulleys mentions this in ANY of their posted info for the pulleys.

Yes all pulleys regardless of manufacturer will require grinding , there is a good picture about it somewhere.

Keep in mind, until recently only JHM offered a bigger crank pulley. (179mm so it required no grinding)

Yes, I'm aware of that (saw the thread/post when it was put up)... I'm just personally not into doing that if I don't have to, hence my question on what sizes don't require it. Thanks though for the link.

someone confirmed you can do the 180mm GMG pulley without modification.

That is the biggest I can confirm so far.

However, honestly the modification is so minor I would rather go with this pulley than one of the more expensive slightly smaller ones. (my .02)

Well, if 181mm was borderline, then how can 186mm not be? I guess what I'm asking is... what is a "safe bet" size that won't have any issues. I think what I'm gathering here is that 179mm is that. Anything above and it'll either be a gamble, require grinding or be too close for comfort and if there's any weird belt movement, it could contact. Yes?

    See here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...lopment-thread

179 or 180 are both safe bets

This is all new development and S4matty is very much at the forefront of it. Thus we do not have very much information other than 180 is confirmed no grinding, 184 is confirmed needing grinding.

Ya, Leo must have edited some of that original post today to add the second graph and to also add the * comment about 180mm and up requiring grinding.

Are any of you guys encountering an increase on NVH at certain rpm's, whether at idle or 2-3K? Seems like no one is mentioning that aspect of the solid pulley.
Just a simple yes or no would be appreciated before I jump into this pool with a 189 or 194mm.

    Thanks

none, no different than the OEM pulley, and no different than my last JHM 179mm pulley. It's a nice piece that doesn't draw attention to itself in terms of NVH.
