2009 cab, 2.0t, cvt is sluggish and slow

My 2.0t with cvt is slow. I mean slow enough that it gets scary pulling into traffic. Today I bought torque pro and it seems to only sustain 11.5psi of boost which seems awful low to me. The car is stock and I'm wondering if this points to a bad diverter valve or if 11.5psi is reasonable for a stock engine? I had a 2003 a4 1.8t and that thing was a rocket compared to this.

    Thanks for any help.

Do you have torque pro set up correctly? Make sure the boost calculation method prefers MAF. 11psi if it is correct seems right.

Honeslty the best bet is go get a VCDS cable and work from there.

But is torque able to pull any codes?

11.5 is good for stock boost, when logging mine in VCDS it peaks at about 12 and trails off to ~10.5-11psi

B7 is a heavier car, especially the cab model (I'd guess it's a least a few hundred pounds heavier than the sedan). Have you done a tune-up lately? Plugs, air filter, fuel filter, oil change? All of these can kill your power and MPG's as well.

Also the CVT is meh, but if you're up there in mileage you should change the fluid (and filter if it has one). That might liven up the trans a bit too.

CVT Fluid change and plugs, coil packs. Oh yeah..NEVER and I mean NEVER drive it in "D". Always in "S" or shift yourself.

I'm honestly not sure if torque is setup right or not. There was only one display for boost that showed any data but I'll look tonight and see if there are any others that I missed in my rush to see some data and figure out what's wrong with this thing.

The b7 cab is definitely heavy. I looked it up and it's almost 4100lbs!

I haven't done anything to it but an oil change. I bought it with 27000 miles and it's at 42000 now so it has relatively low miles for a 2009. I'll plan the cvt fluid change, oil change, plugs and air filter in the next couple of weeks.

Is there a way to tell if I have the rev D diverter valve without removing it? If I'm going to rent time at a garage I might as well update the dv if it's the old version.

    Thanks!

The part number is etched into the plastic housing, but it might require some fancy mirror setup or using your phone's camera to read it.

Has the car always been this sluggish or just happened? Could need proper servicing, not the CVT fluid but recommended at around 40K....more on this later. It might not be the diverter valve as 2009 should be updated. What you should check on:
Air Filter and clean the Snow Screen Filter which is hidden. This can take a toll on your throtlle response.
    New Plugs
    PCV Valve
    Fresh Oil
Regarding CVT fluid: make it is done right as it requires many crucial steps. They don't change filters unless you want them to drop the whole transmission for removal, which is located inside. I have a 2008 CVT and it launches like an American muscle V-8 after replacing the above mentioned items, especially with the filters

The filter can be replaced. There are two. One internal and one external. The external inline one can be replaced. The ATF refresh is a piece of cake, get it flat, remove fill plug, remove drain plug and drain fluid, replace drain plug, fill to overflow ATF, finger tight fill plug, start car with VCDS, monitor temps while changing gears, turn off at 41oC, fill again, repeat until no more will go in. Tighten fill plug and torque both plugs. Done.
