So I bought my first Audi , a 2010 S5 last week. upon signing papers I asked the dealer if the car has two keys. They told me the person who traded the car in only gave them one. now I went on their listing for the car on the dealership website (cooleymotors.com) and they have the car listed as is "(2) ignition keys w/integrated valet key & (1) wallet spare key'. I just reached out to the dealer to see why it was listed like that and presented differently. This seems like false advertisement to me. Am I wrong for being upset about this? ohh not to mention before I picked up my car I asked in a typed up word document if the rotors and brakes have been replaced (car has 60k miles). The dealer assured me yes they did a multi- point inspection on the car. They have a tech there who has been working with Audi for 20 years blah blah blah. I did not buy it, so I went to Audi the next day after picking up the car to have a full used car inspection on the car. Best $145 I ever spent. Turns out the front break pads were almost at metal and the rotors need to be replaced. The battery also failed the test and the sunshade was broken and needed to be replaced. So I took the car back to the dealership to have all these fixed for free. Other than the 3 issues, Audi said the car is in mint condition and was taken care of. Sorry for the long post, but any input is greatly appreciated.

I personally would push them since they advertised the keys and based on what the inspection found. Always try nice first. I think they cut and pasted the key language and got caught holding a bag of dicks.

It's actually quite strange to get just one key with a car. I always try to make sure it's included in my paperwork. When I bought the Tacoma I was originally told that it had two keys, then it turned out to have only one. I had them write up a second key as part of the deal and hadn't received it. I ended up going back to the dealership about a month later and reminded them that I never received a second key. The service manager, sales manager AND finance manager were all pretty upset that I didn't get my second key. The guy who supposedly wrote it into my deal never actually included that sheet in the paperwork that went through their managers.

I did end up getting my second key for free, and they gave me 20% off on my aftermarket purchase that I was also there to make. Being that it was a $600 purchase, I ended up saving a decent chunk of cash.

What's the return policy on the car? I'd threaten to return it (if you can) if you don't get a second key. Audi keys are not cheap to replace. Besides, they advertised having 2 keys, so they owe you two sets of keys.

I had the same issue with my 2013 when I bought it used. It only came with one. I would not sign the final papers with out the "We owe you" documents stating they owed me a second key and the valet key. The We Owe You document is required to be signed in FL and GA even if nothing is owed (we owe you nothing). Not sure if you signed one of those or not.

I bought a 2010 S5 last year luckily got two keys. Didn't come with a valet key but id probably never use it.

Mins came with some "A5" OEM all weather mats instead of the S5 branded. Same thing really, I've been meaning to replace those for about a year but mehh, same thing different letters lol.

I couldn't think of the name, but that was the document that my second set of keys was written on. They had a "we owe you" for a shift knob and the second set, because the original shift knob was stolen when it was on the lot. I got the shift know without issues, because they processed the order in the Parts department while the truck was being detailed for delivery. The second set of keys was on the same sheet, but that's the sheet that was never processed. After looking around for it for a while, the finance manager found it in a pile of paperwork that was left behind by the guy that we did our financing with. He just stopped showing up to work one day!

Definitely give them a hard time. When i got my cpo 13' A5 I even got the little red box the keys come in. Those things are expensive AF to replace. The valet key is attached to the one you have the metal part with the rings comes out of the fob by pressing the button on the back and pulling it up and is a physical key for that (almost positive they keys are the same for the years). Guessing you have the valet switch in the glove box?

That sounds like a sweet deal. And unfortunately I do not think I can return the car. but I can always use that as a last resort if they do not comply lol . The sales guy who sold me the car said he is going to speak to the manager first thing in the morning. I took a screen shot of the listing , just incase they try to take it down.

A lot of people confuse the plastic key as the valet key. That plastic key is an emergency entry key, and it's also required for using the emergency ignition key that's kept in the glove box on the little holder near the MMI ports. That plastic emergency holder doesn't work without the plastic emergency access key inserted. The idea is that you keep the plastic key in your wallet, so if you ever lock yourself out of your car or lose your main key you still have a way to get your car home.

yea we have that in NY as well. I did sign the paper already. The sunshade was listed on there. And I had about 3 pages of printed questions (legal proof) of what I asked and had the Manager read through everyone with me. Before I left she said if there is anything wrong they will do their best to fix it because they are a family owned company that has been in business for 50 years. So hoping they do resolve this.

I know. I heard upper $400 for one key. Yea I do have the plastic valet key in the glove box. As hazemyth pointed out. I did not know you should keep that key in your wallet.

You just keep the tiny part in your wallet. The larger part that's basically a cheapo version of the real key stays in the actual glovebox. You definitely don't want to keep the small plastic part in the glove box, because someone can just use that key to steal your car.

I think they all pretty much came with the standard carpet ones with no embroidery. Previous owner on mine probably upgraded to the all weather rubber ones & tossed the stock ones. They probably got the A5 ones by accident. Same size, just different letters.

Did yours come with a cargo net in the trunk? Mine didn't kinda wanted one, i think they are like $60 bucks new, sheeeesh. Got love OEM parts :)

I have some great news. The dealership reached out to me and said they would honor it and cut me another key free. Thank you for your help guys. I really appreciate it. I am glad I was persistent and paid close attention to detail on this one.
