    Hot Drivers Side Foot Area

Something I've always noticed on my 3.0 is that when its hot out, the drivers side foot area is substantially hotter than the passenger side. The only thing I can think could be the cause for this is the heater core. Any thoughts? Does anyone else experience a hot driver side foot area?

It's the heater core, and I have the same thing. The heater core is closer to the driver's side than passenger as far as I know.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. I wasn't sure if this was a 3.0 thing due to the drivers side cat or if the 1.8 guys also experienced this.

A B7 HVAC controller has adaptation channels that will direct more cool air to the foot wells, even in heating mode. Installing a B7 controller needs a power relay added to power the rear window defroster. The B6 powers the rear defrost from an internal relay. Adding a relay is easy to do, the existing output circuit from the controller is used for the relay primary, then the existing circuit to the rear defroster is reconnected to the relay secondary terminals.
