ADV1 Wheels - ridiculous delays

So I ordered a set of ADV1s, placed the deposit down and told it would take 8-10 weeks for this supplier to finish the wheels. This was around April 7. I'm now at week 11 and told they still haven't finished as they're running behind. Is this normal???

Probably not "normal" though not unexpected. I recall ADV having some early teething issues when the company was first formed, but they generally seem to be well regarded in the custom wheel world. You factor in what is probably a "busy" time in the custom wheel world, and you're probably still in the window of what would be considered a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah, my HRE's got here "early" and it was still over two months. That's a long wait, but I'm not sure it would be considered "ridiculous" in the custom wheel world. At least you got an update... my wheels just showed up one day. ;-)

Ridiculous would be my current wait on a ATF approval to buy, essentially, a muffler for a rifle. I'm at something like 5 months and counting.

I used to sell ADV/HRE/ETC.. for a shop here in Houston, TX.. most people will tell you 8-10 weeks in hopes to not sway someone from purchasing, since it's a long time to wait.

I never lied to my customers and explained that realistically it would be around 12 weeks, sometimes even 14 weeks until we'd see tracking numbers.

Lol when they first formed in 2009? That is completely irrelevant now after being in business for 6-7 years.

I have had two sets of HREs. Both sets were ordered from Wheels Boutique in Miami, and both sets came in less than 6 weeks, fully mounted with tires, balanced and ready to install.

ADv5.0 MV2 SL with concave 21x10.5 all around (they are a little less expensive than some of their other wheels). Colour is liquid coat matte black face, gloss black barrel, gloss black lip, hidden hardware.

You can just buy mine and have them right away, a lot less money as well I'm guessing.
