09 A4 Cabriolet, CVT, very slow

I have a 2009 A4 Cabriolet with the CVT. Compared to my 2003 A4 2.0T automatic this thing is really slow... I mean smart car slow.

In the 2003, when I hit about 3000rpm I could feel the boost pick up and the car took off like a rocket. In the 2009, whether in CVT mode, tiptronic mode or S mode (emulates an automatic) there's never any sensation of the boost picking up and the thing never gets peppy like the 2003 or my wife's turbo Mini.

Also, when taking off from a start in CVT mode, there's no power to get moving. In S mode, the engine revs to about 2500rpm to take off but there's never any pull.

    So my questions...

I know the the Torque App will give boost pressure (not as accurate or fast as a real gauge) but can I see it from the free version or just pro? I'm debating a real boost gage anyway but the way it performs now it doesn't deserve it and I want something just to do some troubleshooting.

Where should I start looking for problems? There are no fluid leaks, I don't hear boost pressure leaking and no CEL but it feels like there must be something wrong with it.

Or am I just stuck with crappy performance because of the CVT? I know a guy with a Tiguan that has the CVT that he autocrosses with so I know the CVT can perform but is it possibly something that can be fixed with a tune?

Any help would be really appreciated as I'm starting to really dislike the car due to the poor performance and eventually plan to do an exhaust, tune and FMIC but not until after it's running right stock.

    Thanks.

Ok so I finally got a chance to give it a run with Torque Pro. It seems to sustain about 11.5psi which for even a stock car seems kinda low. Does this seem to point to a bad diverter valve?
