so how long did you all noticed into owning the S3 that the stock DV was going out?

so I am curious on how long or how many miles that you all began noticing the loss of "power", if I can even say that, due to the stock DV getting weaker or just going out on your S3?

I have not heard anything that suggests the OE DV is failure-prone, and thus I highly doubt many (if any) people here have experienced this. Let's see.

APR run their stage 3+ kits on the stock DV with regular abuse of 35+ psi and they haven't failed yet
maybe the OP is referring to the older generation dv with the rubber internals, but audi stopped using them years ago

I went to a GFB DV+, but it wasn't due to failure. I wanted something that felt a bit snappier in shifts and part-throttle venting.

I experienced boost oscillations on two occasions, both after stage2 and when I was lazy and didn't shift down when I should have in manual mode and gave it full throttle. not sure if it was the due to the DV, it wasn't something I could easily reproduce. I haven't experienced it since I replaced the DV with a BOV though, for whatever that muddy data's worth!

The DV don't per say fail. They just don't do as well when you add extra boost. They can't vent the boost properly compared to an upgraded one made to handle the extra boost over OEM.

^ This. With extra boost when u upgrade the DV this is what the result is. Also you can choose the sound u want for the DV or BOV you replace it with. Quiet --- Loud.

Whenever you tune and add extra boost adding an upgraded DV and upgraded Intercooler is a recommended SAFE GUARD for long term reliability. Extra Power = Extra Heat.

A little over 18k miles, driven very spiritedly regularly and zero DV issues.
