Question Help: Does this air intake inlet look right??

I've just removed the radiator housing in the front of the engine bay revealing the air intake inlet on my 3.0 TFSI A5. The front of the inlet projects out to be largely in line with the top of the grille support, covering half of the area between the heatsink and the grille. This doesn't seem right as it doesn't look like it would maximise the air flow coming through the grille and up the heatsink.

I have attached some pictures, would really appreciate any knowledge on the air intake inlet mechanism and if it is functioning correctly.

Do you have a picture of the whole engine bay so we can see how the carbon tube attaches at the top, you may be able to pull it back slightly so opening up the gap on top of the radiator.

Thanks for your response, yes, I do (see below)... problem I have is that the front inlet is screwed down, so not sure how it would move... and the car just threw a 0068 "Throttle Body Correlation" code and check engine light just came on, think there must be something wrong with the intake

A few things can throw that fault code up but if you've only just installed this intake then I'd be looking for vacuum leaks in the inlet piping and any connected pipes.
Check electrical connectors that may have been disturbed during the install.

If it's not a new install then I'd be checking the Mas Airflow Sensor (if it has one) to see if it's clean, check the throttle body to see if it's clean and closing properly.

As for the scoop at the front, I can see the securing screw, it's similar to the one on my RS, there's nothing you can do really, here's a bit of play in the location so you may increase the gap by 5mm or so.

    What make intake is it?

It's been installed for a few months actually, it's the Carbonio... I just put the EPL Stage 2 93 ECU / DSG on it and then these codes have been coming up, twice now and happens under high engine load, so I suspect its a boost issue

Thanks for your input, it seems like an odd design and the B8 S4 I saw had a short version of that scoop - I may cut or heat and bend it down a bit... need to fix the other issues first though
