Have I set a dashboard temp record with this?

Hot today in Phoenix, dash shows 126 F! Official temps are 118 to 120 F. I happen to be in the process of flushing the cooling system every few days so I'm running 100% tap water at the moment. Engine temp never moves beyond 12:00 position, even with the AC on.

If I want to experience seasons i go to my cabin where the snow is not ice and the roads are not salted. Plus show me a house in a decent state(not in middle of nowhere) that's got a half acre, pool, 7 car garage with bathroom and office for under 180k :) not moving anytime soon lol.

Maybe. Saw around 7 cars pulled over w/ their hoods open, probably overheating. Glad I checked my fan clutch before it got hot.

Tucson set a new record of 115 for the day yesterday (Phoenix is always hotter). On my way home from Church at noon it was already 106.

No heat soak or timing pulled at that temp with my new setup. Although I only got into it once during that drive. E85 FTW!

Yeah I agree. Growing up in Mass I can say I much prefer 100 degree dry heat vs. 85 and humid.

After living in Wyoming for 6 years, I was pumped to PCS somewhere warm (Air Force). I've been in Tucson since 2008 and I love it (usually a little cooler than Phoenix). I still enjoy visiting home as well as the seasons, but the heat doesn't bother me. And, if it's too hot we can always escape to Mt. Lemmon which is over 8K feet and usually ~20 degrees cooler. Your body actually aclimates to the heat pretty quick.

It's just much easier to get dehydrated super fast without noticing it as it's so dry here. My friend used to say it's so dry you can't even make spit lol.

It's not that bad lol. If you have a job where you have to stand outside for an extended period of time in direct sunlight it may be rough, but other than that it's not like walking on a drag strip.

Another plus to this area is that there are no natural disasters. The only thing to worry about in Tucson is monsoon season, which isn't bad. We get some very minor aftershocks from earthquakes too, but they are usually not even noticeable (I've felt 1 in 8 years, and it was actually in NM).

The DOS Western Passport Center (one of two main offices in the country, the other is in Arkansas) actually chose Tucson for that exact reason. They wanted to build in Phoenix but chose not to because of the haboobs (dust storms). We don't have those in Tucson either.

there are no natural disasters in WV, We have an average of 1 tornado every 5 years lol, wind cant pick up if there are trees and mountains slowing it :P 80F is my limit

There are no fault lines in WV so no earthquakes, the worst storm that happened was back in 2012 it broke the power lines and over 80,000 people were without power but Generators are readily available, the biggest issue was the gas stations DIDNT have gas in their generators and couldnt pump any fuel to put into their generators "ive thought that was super funny" so i loaned them a 5500 generator to get them started lol then they gave me free fuel :P we also dont have to have a license to conceal carry, so no one wants to rob a place at gun point because everyone is armed lol we have the lowest gun crime in america and we have people armed to the teeth >.> lol last time i checked the gun doesnt kill people, People kill people Blaming a gun is like blaming a car for a drunk driver, More people die to cars per year than a gun >_> Anyways lol I wouldnt survive there haha my blood would boil and i would be a snow man melting lol

Nice! Sounds like fun! I remember some crazy hurricanes growing up in Mass. It took my dad a week to chainsaw all the trees in our back yard lol. No permit needed for concealed carry in AZ either. I carry my M&P Shield 9mm quite a bit :)

True story. When I was single I didn't worry about it, but now that I have a wife and 3 kids to protect, it's definitely much more on my mind. I plan on getting my ccw, but am not in a huge rush since I don't really need it.

Yeah, I'll get right on that dashboard dust problem when it cools down at least forty degrees. I did notice some drips on the pavement under the car. Looked like teaspoons of wax or some kind of yellow grease? Maybe some bees had started a hive somewhere in the underbody? Appeared to be coming from under the driver door, between the front and rear jack points. Weird. Are there any cavities in an Audi body that insects would nest in?

    I was joking lol

In regards to the wax, that's the factory undercoating. It gets quite malleable in excessive heat

X2 on wax. It will drip when it gets over 100. Mkivs are the worst offenders for this problem. You can lift the rubber door seal under the door and see the drain hole/clear it if plugged.

110 here in Arizona is about the same as 90 degs in many other parts of the country because of the much lower humidity. 110-115 isn't actually all that bad as long as you don't stand in direct sunlight.

I will take a 110 here in Arizona over a 90-100 deg with 80-100% humidity any day, plus the rest of the year it is usually 60-80 degs. Think it is bad here, go to Waterfest when it is 100 degs and 100% humidity and then you will wish you were in Arizona. lol

Definitely agree on this as I was raised in Mass. The humidity makes all the difference.
