Looking to get some major work done. Timing tensioner, chain, guides, all replaced. Possibly new valves. Engine jumped time and Audi by me is charging $145 an hour for labor. I need a good audi mechanic who is cheap. Anywhere in 5 boroughs, north jersey area

Drive Auto does tons of engine rebuilds etc. Aldwin (Clifton shop) is like an encyclopedia for Audi's. Mountainside does tons of work too. You can't go wrong. Only other independent place I trust besides Drive Auto is Eurotech in Mahwah. Good luck!

To me that is reasonable considering the fact that parts will be about $1500, and the rest labor. and that job is pretty time consuming. What do you mean by "Rebuild" though?

Drive Auto Works in Mountainside has been the only shop I've had work on my car. Dion and the guys are very knowledgable and friendly and have very reasonable prices.

Using drive auto in Clifton, they only charged 1400 for full labor including oil change during process for complete timing kit swap, new valves, new head gaskets, sealants etc. I paid $900.02 for kit from Europa but got both tensioners from Audi directly.
