Obviously metric. As mentioned before, torx is very important. Also a hex socket set, security bit set, deep and shallow socket sets (1/4", 3/8", 1/2"). I recently bought two 18 volt impacts (1/4" and 1/2") and they are SUCH a time saver! And a good flat screwdriver set is a must.

Ultimately it comes down to how much work you want to do vs paying for. I've had to buy so many specialty ones for things, such as a right angle driver, special socket for oil filter, screw extractors for those pesky rotor screws, etc.

ODB reader ($$$ = Ros-tech down to $ = cheapo blue tooth connector ). This will save you time in identifying issues and not having to pay for clearing codes.

    Good quality jacks/jack stands/ramps
ratchet spanners for those tight spaces
    good quality torque wrench
good quality ratchet drives (multiple sizes instead of using space taking reducing adaptors)

and all the other general stuff

You'll need a set of triple square bits if you are doing suspension. Also a torque wrench is a must. You'll use it for every nut and bolt on the suspension. You really should use it to tighten your wheel bolts too.

If you don't want to buy the compressor, buy an electric impact gun.

    Best regards,
    Sean.

Before anything else, buy 3 of these.

the amount of time I spent pulling caps off the bolts is too damn high.

x2. I got a 1/2" and 1/4" a few weeks ago and have been using them quite a bit! When the 1/2" can't take off a bolt, I usually have to do it by breaker bar, and after that I'm good. Now I just need to pick up a 3/8"...
