Goes rich at cruise, surges on accel, dies at idle

@ 3-4k or really any rpm that I keep constant my afr will dip to 9:1 and it falls on it's face for a second or two.
After that it will pick itself up and work again just to do it randomly a little bit later.

If I come to a stop and then idle it will die 2 times out of 10 and will restart immediately.

If I go wot from a stop or down shift and go wot it will start to go, then fall on it's face, then pic up again. Not bucking though.

I have logged and cleaned my maf. It's values are steady and do not reflect the issue.
My throttle body does not throw codes and it also does not just suddenly drop it's position/voltage. I've done an adaption 3 times.
I've changed my spark plugs with no change. They don't look tan more like light grey.
I don't have injector codes. I have not

I do notice that cyl#2 piston is seemingly always really wet while the others are not.
I've swapped coils and that definitely doesn't help. It's possible it starts misfiring, but it doesn't register with vagcom.
My vacuum is 18 which is where it should be at my altitude. I've checked for boost leaks and I haven't found any.

Anything I should double check? If it's not some wonky sensor I am inclined to think cyl #2 is getting flooded or one or more of the cyl's just isn't firing.
But! Why would it die at idle? Even if #2 was flooded or I took #2's coil out it should still idle. I have 2.0 coils with no icm and the wiring looks good/no cracking.

Not entirely sure how the system works, but maybe a wonky reading from an o2 sensor? Assuming that's how the ECU makes its fueling corrections that is.

Did you ever figure out your problem? i'm having a similar issue with my car. But i don't have vag-com or a wideband to read my afr. Dies at idle and starts right up with no wait, but mine drives fine.

could be the temp sensor. If you can use vag com check the measuring blocks and make sure its reading your coolant temperature and if your gauge is working

I believe I figured it out, but I haven't driven it enough since then to say with complete certainty. I warrantied 3 of my coils and since then everything has been fine. I had to return one of the coils I had just gotten because it was sparking to the head even when fully seated. I have had the same brand of coils go bad before and also stock coils. The issue I had when I wrote this was not like the others. I still think something is at play. Before I changed the coils it was dying driving in any gear. I would have to wait and let it cool down before it would keep going. Resistance changed in the coils with the heat perhaps.... I have no idea.
