    Exhaust / 034 Input Needed

Looking to get some feedback from fellow B8 S4 owners on the following topics:

AWE Touring w/ Non res downpipes
What is cabin noise like? I love the sound outside yet do not want to ruin my interior comfort.

034 Trans / Diff mounts - will these over time damage both components of my car? I can't find the thread desrcibing this thought in detail.

I'm in the process of sorting through exhausts / intake combinations and have narrowed it down to the AWE intake with the above exhaust combo with the potential for resonated downpipes or to leave them stock.

    Any insights greatly appreciated

If you have DSG, you will want to get resonated downpipes with the AWE touring exhaust.

Same advice I was given. I followed that advice and purchased the touring exhaust with resonated DPs. Didn't take long to get bored with it and cut out the resonators on the DPs. Sounds much better now! Same volume at WOT but between 2-4Kish RPM, soooo much meaner. No drone but it is louder in the cabin. Not so much so that it's annoying but that's personal preference. At cruising speed there isn't much difference.

    No where

Just get the AWE-Touring and keep the stock downpipes. I have this setup with DSG and it's nothing horrid. This is coming from a guy that hates drone.

I think your best bet is to sit in someone who has what you're looking for since it's all subjective. Personally I have the AWE touring w/ DSG and I 100% notice the drone. It's a tad annoying sometimes but not to the point where I need to make a change immediately.

I agree, it's no where near as bad as people make it out to be. I'm running the same set up and love it.

Plenty of CT folks around that I'm sure would let you listen to their exhaust. Where are you located?

True...plenty of us around, several different combinations of exhaust mods located close by enough for you to sample if you wanted to. I'm in Branford and work in New Haven.

I had drone as well until I removed the resonators from the DPs, as counterintuitive as that seems...

It is subjective for sure. I absolutely hate drone. Specially when cruising at 70ish MPH. No thanks. I want it to sound mean when needed (WOT) and stay nice and subtle when cruising to allow for conversation w/the wife or listening to music.

But yeah, if you don't care so much about drone, then save money and go stock DP's for sure.

If you're ever out there showing off your exhaust to a fellow member, let me know. I definitely want to check it out.
