    B6 A4 Window regulator

    Hey Audizine,

I'm in the process of replacing my drivers side front window regulator for the second time this year. I purchased a cheaper one from rockauto this time and it seems like the window is resting on the bars of the regulator. Before I put it back in, I want to make sure that this will be okay. I'm thinking the window will roll up really slowly like this. Is there anyway to get some gap between the window + the regulator?

    Thanks

Update: The window rolls up really slowly and it sounds like its really struggling. Any tips? I already contacted rockauto.

It's either the regulator or motor... Only 2 possibilities so if you installed the reg correctly and it's slow then try a window motor.

The regulator is a straight forward install really

    Good luck

You may need to adjust the position of the orange tabs so they are centered and allow the window to move fluidly. If they are not properly aligned, there will be resistance along the window's path of travel.

Thanks. I'll check it out when the weather clears up again. How should they be aligned? The window is moving up slow then stopping, then I have to take off my finger and press again. Any ideas? Maybe the teeth aren't aligned on the motor? What if the spool isnt in properly?

I don't think the motor teeth are the problem. They could be stripped, but I think you would know if that's the case.

Try lubricating the window seal where the window is guided up and down. I think there is too much resistance on the window somewhere along its path. My bet is on the orange tabs, but your seal may also be rubbing on the glass.

Thanks. The glass is definitely rubbing on the regulator but there's no orientation where it isn't touching it. Something is wrong

Did you find the problem? My passenger front regulator just ate itself and I'm thinking of ordering the cheaper one from rockauto. But I don't want to be "cheap" and end of having to do the same job twice
This car is what I look like on the inside
