A4 honeycomb grill installation into bumper question

I just bought a replacement bumper and honeycomb style grill. The grill is having a hard time fitting into the bumper due to the plastic bar where the grill is placed. Does anyone who of you are just supposed to cut this bar away for installation?

I believe your suppose to cut that bar out, it's there just for support

Oem bumpers dont have that bar only cheap aftermarket ones have it and I'm guessing cuz they arent as thick as oem and need the support. I would just carefully cut it out

You will need to cut the bar going across. You can look at the bumper you had before and where the bar needs to be cut back to.

Mine doesnt have it. Every pic i have seen of non oem bumperd hsvr that mold with the support attached to the bumper.

Because every pic is for show, all new covers have this. The two hook holes on the top of the bar are for hanging for paint. Ask me how I know.

Any new bumpers will have it. No matter where you get it from it will have the bar with the hooks for paint. I've done some other cars and they all had this even coming from the dealer.

Where did you get yours? I'm assuming you had to replace yours?

I havent bought one yet. My car has original one still. But i wanted to replace my bumper and hood for few chips.

So I assumed that's how was cuz oem pics didn't have it and aftermarket did.

Yeah I know exactly what you're saying. A lot of pics wont show the bar but all of them come with it. When I got mine I didn't know what the hell it was. lol

Yeah you have to cut it off and the grille will fit right in like normal. When you get the new cover painted and ready to swap out, you can look at the old cover and judge where the bar needs to be cut. It sticks out a little from the back of the bar and you need to cut that flush or your grille will push that part of the bumper out. This is the best I can explain it but when you have the two next to each other you'll see.

Have a sharp knife, that shit's thick!
