D3 A8 Convenience Open, Close Power Issues

I recently purchased a 2005 A8L. I have noticed that the convenience unlock feature and soft close (I'm not sure what Audi calls it) feature does not work unless the key has recently been in the ignition. If I have waited a few minutes after locking the doors, I must use the remote to unlock the doors, rather than the door handles. This is true on all four doors. Additionally, the door closers do not function unless the key has recently been in the ignition (and been on). The trunk will unlatch, but when I close it, the close function also does not work unless the ignition has been on. I have also noticed that some of the interior map/dome lights do not function unless the ignition has been on. I have not timed this, so I am not sure how long I have before these features lose function, but it is at least a few minutes. I've searched all over various forums, but can not seem to find a similar issue. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks!

My guess is that some of the modules are not going to sleep possibly causing a power drain and shutting down modules.

Either way, scan for faults with VCDS it will probably reveal quite a bit.
