No Crank - no start. Power to dash and accessories.

2009 Audi A4 Quattro. Battery was low and me like a dummy hooked up a charger directly to the battery while the cables were still attached (wasn't thinking). Now the car wont crank and got the ESP light. Hooked up VCDS and have tons of malfunctions.

Any ideas? Did I blow a power supply relay, killed the ECM or what?

Hooking up a battery charger should not have done any damage...unless you hooked it up backwards......

Did you let the battery charge-up for a few hours before you tried to start the engine?? Sounds more like you tried to start the car with a weak battery. If the battery can't hold a charge, after trying the charger, get a new battery.

Yes charged the battery to full. Performed a battery test with a SOLAR battery tester. Passed the test (850 CCA rated - tested at 925 CCA). Not sure if I blew the ECM power use or something else with all the malfunctions on the VSDS shown.

This just happen to me it was my starter and battery went out on me. Replaced both and bam. Car starter.

The dates on the faults look odd. It has stored faults from before the battery went dead and the then went back to a zero date (2008). If the battery died while cranking it may have left the solenoid still engaged with the flywheel. I would clear codes, pull the negative battery terminal for a minute, open a door to help kill residual charge. Hook battery back up and press start without the brake to power up and have ECU initialize. Set clock and then try and start. May not do anything but at least new fault data will be easier to distinguish from stored faults.
I don't know for sure that the ecu monitors the starter solenoid for position but looking at the fault it looks as if the short it reads may just be the solenoid stuck in the engaged position. You may have to manually rotate the engine a little to allow the solenoid spring to retract the starter shaft if it is bound against the flywheel.

if there's no crank then check your guys' starters. that's usually where it would start, all the fault codes and stuff are normal once battery is low or with similar problems like this, that's just the car shutting down and doing stuff with all those modules and they all throw codes, clear them out afterwards and they should be fine.
