AC Musty/Wet Sock Smell - Help Please

    Hello all,

Last week we had a heavy rainfall and found water accumulated on the passenger side mats. The water source seems to stem from the center console area.I went ahead and cleaned out any debris or leaves accumulated under the hood. Yesterday my wife complained about the wet sock smell when starting the car and turning on the AC. I went ahead and replaced a semi dirty cabin filter.

I ran the car without the filter to cross out that possibility and the smell was still there. Been researching all over the board one recommendation is to run a cleaner by the intake under the hood. I do want to check if there is a clog in the evaporator drain.

Does anyone have any information, location, photos of the evaporator drain for a 2011 Q5?

If anyone had the same issue any info would be great.

    Thank you in advance.

You could bring it to a professional detailer to see if they can clean the carpet and do an air purge.
Just make sure you take it to a shop that knows what they are doing.
