ITG Performance Foam Filters Now Distributed by Griffin Motorwerke

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ITG products are regularly used at the top level of motorsport, most notably including F1, World Super Bikes, 24 hours of Le Mans and WRC. This close association with the pinnacle of motorsport translates to the best possible filtration and increased air flow solutions for your road car.

ITG's foam technology is industry-leading (proven by their use in Formula 1 racing). Unlike the common cotton gauze filters, these foam filters will perform equally as well as new after being cleaned and re-oiled. We offer ITG's line of OE replacement filters (ProFilter) as well as their universal fit conical and cylindrical filters (Maxogen) for those of you wanting to upgrade the filter in your aftermarket intake kit.

The price of the filter is laughable.

Yeah, my mind is boggled. While this could be an excellent product, I thought ~$60 for a premium filter was a little hefty...

Yes, that would be one of the Maxogen universal fit filters. 5" opening, 8" tall, 7" diameter, rated up to 540 BHP $99/ea.

This is a premium filter that we feel exceeds the quality, durability and performance of any other filter on the market. The S4/S5 3.0T filter is a little more complex than most panel filters, so it has a higher price tag.

ITG generally doesn't publish this data, however, they clearly flow much better than OE filters based on the power gains. For example, one of their distributors recently did some back to back dyno testing on an M4 comparing OE, ITG and an ITG competitor. ITG saw 21.5 HP over the OE filter and 6HP over its competitor. Pretty significant numbers to me. I just shipped a B8 S4 filter to our Berkeley, CA location so they could do some dyno testing on this product. I'll report back as soon as I get the results.

You can read more about their foam technology here

I've spoken with John about this. I will be arranging for some testing in the near future.

Beside having better flow that both OEM and other competitors, how well does it filter compared to them. It always seems to be the trade off of better flow at the expense of poorer filtering.
