the center bore works. You'd need to be in the 32~35et offset on a 235/40 so a 18to20mm spacer.

They should fit but you will need hub centric rings to reduce to the S4's smaller diameter and you need to figure out the spacer width which optimally for our B6 A4 platform a 32-35 offset is the optimal for running a square tire setup and flush to the fender.. But depending on your suspension setup. have you checked the specs with www.willtheyfit.com

20mm spacers will put the wheel closer to the fender or exactly where stock is?

yes. by adding a spacer you subtract from the wheels true et.

In other words: et52 with a 20mm spacer becomes et32 so the wheel pushes OUTWARD the lower the number.

I have 19x9 et40 wheels with 225/35 tires. i'm on coilovers and prob around 25" FTG in the back and 24.5 in the front with stock control arms. At ET35 i was rubbing on both fronts when turning hard or loaded. I rubbed 4 corners at the max height setting on the coils with a 235/40 18x8.5" wheel et35.

I'm on 18x9 et 35. There's maybe a credit card's width between the inside of the wheel and the knuckle. Running 265/35 PSS with -1.5* up front and -2.5* in the back because I had to add 5mm spacers to fit the JHM rotors. Otherwise the back would have been good squared up I think. I get slight rubbing in the back on big dips at high speeds, again, thanks to the spacers.

using your specs and comparing to my possibles, i would have more room around the fenders/ knuckle because i run a narrower tire.

Depending on tire brand your going to want to run 235-35-19. 225 doesnt work well for the S4 platform because of the load index not being able to handle the cars weight. Ideal offset depending on how low you are is ET 37-32 area for front and ET35-28 for rear is nice if your slammed with pretty much no rubbing.

If you're dialing down to H&R springs are you also installing new dampers ? You'll eventually blow the oem dampers since they will be strained by being compressed, being unable to work as designed within their range.

I was looking at TT wheels a couple years ago but because of their 52 offset, I didn't see how they would work without complications and anything over a 5-10mm spacer was a no-go. still needed at least 15 to 18mm spacer to achieve the offset i wanted. I would prefer not to use spacers.

In the end it is worth it to get the right wheels with correct offset so you can run a square set up as in a 245-255-265 with a 35 or 40 profile on an 8.5 or 9" wheel. I also think an 18" is a better and is available in a wider range of width sizes than 19".. TSW, BBS, AG and HRE all make wheels that won't leave you guessing.
I do like the OEM look but our B6's are not easy to fit considering the wheel wells have a much narrower space allotment than more recent Audi's..

already have bilstein sports on the car and the ride, contrary to popular opinion, is nice and not bouncy. i figured i would get a set of the 20mm bolt on spacers and start there. if i need a little less i can always machine a mm or two off.
