    Carbon Fiber Spoiler/Mirrors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

I was just curious if anybody has installed the Carbon Fiber Spoiler/Mirrors from Audi onto their B9's. They're pretty expensive but I do want that look, does anybody have any experience on how long it took 3rd parties to create similar products for the B8?

These are the links for the products I am talking about:

    $1150 for a f***ing spoiler??
They better suck me off for that price.
I'd say end of summer before any kind of aero parts make it to the B9

Hello from France where I am working for the next 30 days or so.

My B9 should be waiting for me upon my return to Canada in mid July but decided to look into suspensions and the spoiler case that have been brought up.

The suspension part I have already reported on this in its own post.

Now we already know about the CF spoiler that is available (here too in Europe), strangely not in Canada according to my dealer but available through the USA.

Anyway the brochure here show the B9 A4 with a rear lid spoiler so I drove 4 hours round trip to the closest Audi dealer in Corsica to speak to the parts department and came up with some interesting info.

Yes in their parts catalog they do show a rear spoiler available for the B9 A4 (not the CF one), however when they look at its availability it shows none available at this time in France but they do have a part number for it!

The parts guy said he would e mail Audi Germany to see if it is available in Germany and if it is he said he could order it for me and that it would take just an extra few days to get here in Corsica.

BTW they even have the pricing for it 240 Euros all taxes included of course, that's about $270 USD.

So if someone in the USA can check with their dealer if the following part number is available, then that would be for a regular/paintable spoiler...

    Part number for spoiler... 8W5 071 641 9AX.

    Let me know.

I don't know what else you would really call it, but I think it's funny to be call that thing a spoiler. It spoils precisely no lift. It's a nice little touch of sport deco on the trunk lid (and I do like it). But it makes about as much sense calling it a spoiler as when those wannabe racer fanboys put massive aftermarket wings on the trunk of their Chevy Beretta thinking they are somehow adding downforce to their 45mph cornering speed.

Hey dbuxton13... If you are really in Germany, why don't you call or visit a dealer there armed with this part number and find out for us if this spoiler is available?

Can do. But it will be about a week, as I am presently on holiday in France.

Thanks... where about in France are you?

I’m also on a “forced/paid” 30 day vacation (which of course I don’t mind) in France at this time.

We go to Paris often but on this trip I'll be in Calvi Corsica for the entire time.

CF mirrors and spoilers is a $1500 option in the US. Looks really nice TBH, makes the car look more sportier, but i bet there will be cheaper options in aftermarket in a couple years maybe.
