    Prestige Packages

    Hey all

Looking into a 17' Audi A4 prestige. There where a few packages that I'm on the fence of getting and really couldn't find any video reviews so I wanted to gather your opinion if you have had experience with any of them.

Warm weather package: I think I'm already going to pick up the sports package so only extra I would get here is ventilated function for front seats and rear side window sunshades. Opinions on the ventilated seats....do they push cool air through them or is it just the leather is perforated which makes it "breath" better?

Comfort adaptive damping suspension: is it just reducing my ride height by 10mm? The sports package already lowers it by 23mm.

Driver assistance package: are those 4 features really worth an extra $1,800.

Sports package: Thoughts on this, I think I'm already going to get it.

Other than that I am getting the cold weather package.

    Thanks all.

The seats cool faster than the heaters heat. Within seconds you feel the cool. It's a downdraft pulling the cabin air towards you across your body and into the seat. It keeps you from having a sweaty back up against the seat. I value it more than the heated option now that I've owned two ca s with it.

On the high setting of three it's a bit noisy so I usually use the middle setting. It exhausts into the back seat area......which can at moments choke the kids...:)

Ventilated seats are nice but not instantly chilling, they ar more meant for a comfortable climate over a longer period of time, I would always get them again though if the car is parked outside in the sun more than a few times a year.
Once you had ACC you will not want a car with the old style cruise control anymore, the other components are more nice to have but not worth the package price. Even the full package will not allow autonomous driving though, they are all assistants that help but they won't take over driving.
Sport package only makes sense if you want black seats AND black headliner AND do not get adaptive dampers, certain interior colors include the black headliner, warm weather includes the sport seats and adaptive dampers (-10mm) delete the sport suspension (-23mm). Adaptive suspension is nice though, I have it in Auto most of the time and while no Air suspension it makes the ride very comfortable.

On my A4 I have the ventilated seats and sports package. LOVE the ventilated seats, but just like the A/C, it also affects your MPGs. As for the Sport Package, the ride height on the stock A4 is horrible and unless you plan on getting coilovers/springs installed afterwards, you will end up with an A4 SUV. Plus the Audi Drive Select that comes with the Sport Package gives you the option of Comfort, Dynamic, Individual or Automatic.

No seat heaters needed down here....it rarely goes below 75 all year down here

Individual is only available with Navigation Plus but is not dependent on the Sport package, Comfort/Dynamic/Automatic is available in all models with Drive Select and standard in the US.

Thanks for the inputs, I think I'm going to skip out on the diver assistance package.... really all that stuff isn't needed as all the stuff it adds should be fundamental driving 101.

The sports package I like for the black headliner but I'm sure I could get that anyways with black interior I've never had sports suspension so not all sure what that all that brings to the table over normal suspension or even the suspension with adaptive damping. Hard to find information on that. But those 19" wheels would be the biggest reason for the sports suspension package; Audi won't let you config. 19" wheels w/o sports package, don't know if you can at the dealership. Those wheels look nice. The stock 18" I am not a fan of. The warm weather package is starting to look more and more attractive, nicer leather, cooled seats can use useful where I live in Colorado, looking to move to Arkansas.

If true, that's kind of messed up. Individual Drive Select setting only with a Nav package???

Interesting about Sports Package -23mm VS adaptive dampers -10mm ... so it's not a total of -33mm? How did you confirm this? Any infos would be very much appreciated!

Guess I'm just going to have to talk to the dealership about this. Most people are saying no, you can't have both.

Try to find a car with adaptive dampers and measure it. I always did the iPhone 6 test in the rear right, with standard suspension the iPhone fits upright (sideways, 0 degree) between tire and fender, with sport it's about horizontal (maybe 80 degree) and with adaptive dampers it's at about 45 degree. Note that Audi allows up to 10mm variation in ride high, so if you find a standard suspension that is at the low end it may look like adaptive suspension, worst case you get adaptive suspension and it's as high as standard, best case adaptive suspension is almost as low as sport. And anything in between. Fact is that adaptive dampers removes sport suspension in the US. Canada and ROW are different, they have adaptive sport suspension as an option.

I picked up the Technik level of trim but didn't get any extra packages with the car - my one regret is not getting the Comfort Seating Package as I would of loved to have the ventilated seats. When I read about it, I thought that the leather itself was just more ventilated and not fully ACed so I guess it's really a mistake on my part.

While people are saying that the car looks like an SUV without the S-Line package/lowered ride height, it's not THAT bad. The 18" wheels fill it well enough (better them some cars I've seen/owned...) and you've got room to expand if you upgrade to 19" wheels at any point, which is my plan eventually. Plus in the long run I'd throw coilovers in there myself anyways which would make getting the S-Line package moot for me.

ACed seats though, no brainer in my opinion and my only regret about the car of not getting them.

There are no "ACed" seats in the B9, the ventilated seats suck hot/humid air away from the body (through tiny holes in the leather) but they don't blow cold air to the body.

It's still a feature one step above not having it in the first place which I wish I had gotten.

I get it. I get it so much, I ordered another B9 A4, hopefully here in Sept. I will lose a couple grand on the one I leased a month ago. It's crazy but the A4 I have now sold me on itself. I was planning to drive the A4 until I order an S4, which I am now not going to do. I had several B8 and B8.5 S4's and this B9 A4 is just right. But I really want ventilated seats and a couple other options so the order went in last week! Boom.

While you're handing out free money, add me to your list?

Kidding - I hope you enjoy the new ride that much more

Have the prestige with sports package, didn't get the vent. seats , but seeing some pics out there I would definitely go for the sport package ride height is pretty high otherwise.

What are your thoughts on the driver assistance package? Did you get that?

I didn't, when you get the prestige pack it comes with side assist and presence rear and they all have presence city which will stop the car for you in an emergency I've had it kick in a cpl times when it didn't like how close I was to another car. A big triangle pops up on the front heads up and in the virtual cockpit and the car brakes for you. I had it set for earlier warning though. You can set how sensitive you like it or turn off all together. For me that's enough safety, the driver assistant seems like something you would use a handful of times you still have to keep ur hands on the wheel for traffic assistant. I'd say save the $ for some suspension, engine mods or nicer rims.... You can look up vids on the driver assistance, I've seen mixed reviews on it. But in the end it's ur baby, do what makes you happy, if u don't mind spending the extra cash🤑 then go for it. You'll love the car how ever you get it. It's a great drive and fast, I had to set some warning to let me know when I go over 100, it's so smooth you don't even realize how fast ur going when driving on the expressway.
