I dont see it being an issue unless they are going to document that you have an intake installed and it come up in some warranty claim down the road.

I'm planning on swapping back on the OEM intake. Takes 15 minutes. I have to believe if they see any modification like that, they'll be more likely to dig for a tune or piggyback later if there are issues.

If you aren't running a tune and never plan to, you could probably leave it on. They'd have a hard time providing proof that it caused a problem (assuming your intake has a dry filter).

If I could jump in and share a recent example. I'd generally agree with this, however, that can backfire. Buddy of mine was stage 2 Eurodyne and had a major warranty claim. Flashed, went back to stock, etc., all was good and on his marry way. Soon after, turbo failed, but this time left his intake on. Result: denied due to after market intake. Both cases dealer didn't detect the tune, but in the second case, the intake was all they needed. Just adding to the mix.

Wow that's just an asshole dealership right there. An air intake is basically just a glorified air filter. I would have to fight that if it ever happened to me.

Good to know. Since changing the intake is a ~15-30 minute job, seems worthwhile always taking it off.

Been thinking of just putting my stock intake back on permanently. The APR intake I have now is very quiet and the fitment is crappy. I had to zip tie part of it to the car to get it to quit moving around. Looks cool but that is it.

This is one of the things I like about the 034 motorsports carbon intake. Since you can keep the lower oem box in and just change the top parts
for when you need to go into service. What I don't like about it is the price for the gains you receive. Too bad there wasn't a pvc (plastic) cheaper one that doesn't
have the premium for the carbon fiber. I'll just stay stock for a while until a better solution comes around.
