    partially close tailgate

I have a powered tailgate on my Q5. I have a long box to transport a short distance so I need to be able to only partially close the tail gate, is there a way to do this without causing any damage?

When I try to pull down the tailgate manually, there is some resistance, so I haven't tried harder, but can I just pull it down by hand and use some rope to keep it tightly bottomed out on the box?

Check out page 41 of the Getting to know your Q5 | SQ5 Quick Questions and Answers. You can hit the rear hatch button to stop it and also set a desired open position.
