Buying a B7 S4 Avant Salvage?

Hello, I recently found a what appears to be a great condition 2006 B7 S4 Avant MT, and I am thinking of buying it. Unfortunately, the car is a salvage title. The gentlemen sent me pics of the crash(https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-...3RrMzU4VkVQNlE). It was mostly front end. Before I consider buying this car I need to get a PPI, compression test, and boroscope check, but is there anything special I should look for being its a salvage? I'm not interested in getting screwed down the road lol. 20k is a bit much for a salvage... Clean title maybe for that much

yea too high in my opinion as well. He originally wanted 27K ha. Would it be pretty difficult to insure as well?

Also it looks like the owner tried to sell it through a company that specializes in salvaged vehicles and it now trying to sell it on his own.

Remember that salvage title will cut down resell value at least 30%.

Just talked to the owner, he doesnt know anything about the car. Apparently he bought the car from auction and repaired it himself at home.....

Big no no for me lol.

Definitely not an RS4 style front bumper but more like a Q5 bumper. With that said, I am going to assume the car had front end damage and since the parts were expensive, this owner or the previous owner used non-OEM bumpers and grille assembly to save money.

But it was mentioned before, the price is way too high for salvage, even with that color combination and mileage. Also, from my experience, insuring a salvage title is more expensive.


Edit - Read the auction ad which states the damaged area. Should have read that before posting, sorry. However, he says it was "repaired with all original Audi parts by a licensed shop with extensive experience" which is clearly not the case with the bumper.

Even though my avant is a B6 style I still paid less than this car. Mine came in with clean title and no body damage. This is way overpriced for what its got going. I would try to haggle that down or just not even bother.

If your willing to spend 20k there ARE ALOT better avants out there…unless you gotta have sprint blue i'd keep on looking. Even if you got him down to mid teens I don't think you'd ever be able to re-sell for that…especially to a enthusiasts.

Considering the price is nuts........ and having owned a salvaged title jeep back in the day that had tons of issues due to it being hit, I wouldnt waste your time with this POS

Yea I'm already looking for a different car. I don't want to deal with a non Audi rebuild plus that bumper is awful. I use elsawin and Bentley to repair my car but I'm sure the seller has no idea what that is.

DO NOT BUY THAT CAR. I'm pretty sure I purchased a car from that seller and it was a piece of shit. It's the same location and the pics were taken in that same area, plus the sellers are from one of the former Yugoslavian countries. You can tell that they aren't great with English in the ad. Trust me, run away from that pile. The A4 I purchased was a good deal, but the exhaust was a hack job, and tons of little things all over showed me that the "dealer" cut corners prepping the car or fixing it to sell it. Plus that front bumper should tell you that they cut corners by putting a cheap replacement on instead of the OEM one.

Too much. Picked up my B6 s4 with 113K for $4k. Fixed the cosmetics for less than 400 and vinyl wrapped the doors instead of painting them

I am picking up a 2005 allroad this Friday, 103k mint interior, back passenger door and flare have a bit of a crack on it from when the older lady got to close to a wall. easily replaceable. 6k,i am having him bring that down after I get it front to bumper diagnostic done. 5.5k is what I will ask.
